Pain/Discomfort on Right Side
Hi All!
My first time posting here. I have had Lap RNY on 4/7/05 so I'm about 2.5 weeks post-op. Been feeling OK overall with the exception of what I consider painful muscle pain on the right side. I saw my surgeon last Wednesday for my two-week post op and mentioned it to him and he said it was a common complaint of people that can last up to 5 weeks. He also said people have said it will go away and then they'll do something to flare it up again. It started to get better shortly after seeing him to the point where I actaully could sleep on either side at nighttime instead of on my back (yeah ). But then two days ago, here it comes again. When I bend at the waist or get up too quickly from sitting or sit for long periods of time at the computer, it begins to ache. Sometimes when standing up from bending over, it will be a quick pain almost like a stabbing pain but it feels very muscular.
Am I crazy? A wimp? Is he right that this is something many experience? Ice packs and my pain meds are my best friends right now.
On the up side, I'm down between 25-30 pounds, and can see some changes so that's encouraging and exciting.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions,
Christi
