5 days post op and not feeling full on liquids
Hi everyone -
I just wanted to check in and see if I was normal. I am stll on the clear liquid diet and so far I am not feeling hungry but when I do eat, I dont know what full feels like. Will this change when my diet is advanced? I am by no means starved but I want to make sure that when my diet is advanced that there is some indicator that I am full. Does this change? I know a lot of people have talked of not even being able to drink liquids down etc and I have had no problems getting down any amount of liquids so far.
Thanks!
I was started on full liquids day 2, post op. Once I was allowed to add sugar free pudding and jello to the diet I felt FULL. It took awhile to be able to finish one small container of pudding. It should change, once you can have something with more texure besides, liquids. I still can only get in around 2 ounces or less every 4 hours.
elizabeth, i was also on the 18th and yesturday i started on full liquids. Now when i have a soup.. after 4 bites i know that i am way to full cause i get the pressue buildup in my chest. but when i was doing the clear liquids i just eat on a regular schedule and never felt hungry or full. but now ever few hours i do get a bit hungry tummy tells me it wants something to eat and its usally snack time.
Hope that helped !

hello Elizabeth
I had my surgery the same day as you and my surgeon put me on clear liquid and protein shakes.I cant really tell when I am full either.I tried a shake with sf pudding and it made my heart race and I felt like I blew up.
I am thinking I dumped for the first time. I dont feel hurgery either and I
have a ton of energy.I had a little trouble drinking cold water and icy shakes I get this pain in my chest I really dont know what that is.
good luck!!
Elizabeth,
I'm one month out and still don't have any hunger problems. I am now on pureed foods and I can tell you from experience, you WILL know when you get full and even too full. Too full and your pouch will hurt like you are having a heart attack. Yacking a little up will help relieve that pain if you ever experience it, but I wouldn't make it a habit
Its a learning experience. I have started to adjust to what I can tollerate and how much in a given amount of time. They say to take 30 minutes to eat your meals, right now on pureed foods...its taking me an hour because I don't want my pouch hurting again.
