I'm home
Hi all: I am home, feeling pretty sore from the gas pains, and trying to get in my water and protein. Seems every sip hurts since I know I am swallowing air at the same time. Letting the protein thicken up seems to help with having less air bubbles, so I think I will continue to do that. I feel like I need to be burped like a baby, but only a little air "dribbles" up from my pouch. Lifting my arms over my head seems to help, some. I've been up walking a lot. Seems I can only get sleep for an hour at a time, I think my best was 2 hours last night. Praying this stage gets over soon! Thank you all for thinking of me and praying for me during these last few days. Think it's time to lay down again. Love to you all, Pam
Hi Pamela!
I had surgery on the 6th and I was feeling much the same way you describe. Let me just be the first to assure you that things will get easier with each passing day (no pun intended! lol). If you are walking a lot, I assure you that things will move along and then you'll feel muuuuch better. Until then, keep on doing what you're doing and know that this is a temporary discomfort for a lifetime of benefits! I too had a hard time sleeping, but have found that tapering off the pain meds helped a lot for me. I wish you much healing and restful sleep! Congrats on a successful surgery and take care of yourself! Love, Amy
Dont worry ..you are right on track. I was in hosp longer..4 days. But the days at home were hard..water hurt..I just hurt alot. Not the sutures but the tenderness of the pouch and stuff. Then I decided to only take the vicodin given me and not just the tylenol and I felt better. Now I am 1wk and 2 days out and for 2 days I do tylenol dur day and the other at night and I have slept 6hrs last night..wow! Then I take another dose and zzzz again. Rest. Walk. Rest. eat and know that it will get better baby steps at a time
