How long after the insurance approval. Then the date of the surg is scheduled? I have my first app on 4/13/05. Just wondering how long the whole process will take, I have good ins so that shouldn't be an issue. I am just afraid my husband may switch jobs soon. lol Thanks Darla

Hi Darla; it took 1 1/2 mos for surgery approval and another 5 mos for surgery. I think it veries with everyone. Good luck, Diana

I had to follow certain requirements, then I went to my surgeon, he ordered tests, which can take 1- 2months to complete. Once he had everything back, he sent in for the approval from my insurnce, that part took a week, and then another week to schedule me. After that, I was put on his surgery schedule which was four weeks out and I had my surgery Friday. It really didn't take that long, hopefully your husband doesn't change quickly, I know that happened to someone else and she had to start the whole process over again. Good luck to you!

Darla, with my insurance they have to set a date before submitting the request for surgery so they used the 18th of April as the date and then after i was approved about a week later they have kept that date it was about a month out from approval to surgery. hope that helps . Danielle

My process from start to finish took 5 months. I was approved 3 months before surjury, I just had a number of consults and tests to go through first, for my surgeon.

I took me 3 weeks to have the test and insurance approval. I submitted the insurance approval on December 23, and had surgery January 17, 2005. I have blue cross of california, they approved it the first time, so I figured it was meant to be. Good Luck Chris

Hi Darla, I first went to a seminar on Jan.27. I made an office appt. the next week. They advised me of all the appts. I needed while awaiting insur. approval,so I did them. I needed psych, dietician, ekg, bloodwork and a note for insurance from my PCP. As soon as apprv. was received I was scheduled 3 weeks later and had my surgery 4/5/05. It went really quick I thought. My suggestion is to hold off on blood work alittle while. I had mine done asap, and I needed additional bloodwork done as my results could only be 2 weeks old prior to surgery. So wait on that as long as you can, unless you enjoy needles in the arm. Best of Luck, tell hubby to stay around the job just a bit longer. Debbie
