Surgery April 12th

Hi all, I'm new to this site. I wish I had found it before, so much good information. I'm in Bakersfield CA and Dr. Irani's my doctor. tomorrow will be a liquid diet day, ugh! My bigest concern is not having water for so many hours. Would love to hear from you. Liz

Congratulations! Your day is approaching fast! You should be well hydrated if you drink alot on your liquid diet. The night before my surjury I sat down with a 33 oz bottle of Propel (made by Gatorade except not as strong, loaded with vitamins and minerals and is a lightly flavored mineral water) and got that in before MN . Afterwards you will have an IV to keep you hydrated. Best of luck and let us know how you do, when you feel up to it. Hugs, Sandy

Hi Elizabeth, We have a few things in common.....we both live in CA....we have the same last name and we are having surgery on the same day. I am praying you will have an uneventful and speedy recovery. God Bless you....~Dee

Hi Dee, Wow, we have a lot in common. How are you feeling about the surgery? I'm calm and at peace, but I don't think my husband is as calm. Poor guy. Are you married? Do you have good support? My husband is a great guy, not very good at taking care of someone else, but good at taking care of himself. At least I won't have to worry about him. My children are grown and live out of state and my only living sister is also out of state. She will be coming to visit on the 25th of the month. She has been figthing breast cancer and is also recovering from surgery. I wish she could be here, but I didn't want to postpone this surgery any longer. Oh my, I'm going on and on. Do you want to be a regular buddy and exchange communications? I will also pray for you and ask my friends to pray as well. God Bless you and keep you. Liz

Hi Liz, Today is my liquid diet day. I had to take M.O.M. at noon and it hasn't been to bad. Make sure you have popsicles, jello, soda, and juices for tomorrow. It really helps. I am not eating sugar free today, I figure this is my last day to eat the sugar. Good luck to you! Audrey P

Thank you all so much for your replies. It feels wonderful to have so many good wishes from all of you. I'm on my liquid today with M.O.M. this morning. Liquid in, liquid out Really no complaints, not that hard. My surgeon wanted me to drink 120 ounces today and I did that by 1:00 pm today. I haven't had jello yet, but might tonight. I've just been so busy trying to get everything in order. Again, you are all such 's I'll be back on the board as soon as I get strong enough to sit at the computer. Blessing to all of you. Liz
