Dumb Question
Cathy- had my surgery 19 years ago, when I did I had a procedure they don't do anymore because of the morbity rate. I've had infusions for iron, transfusions and infusion for vitamins my body doesn't absorb anything any more and my original surgery has failed, I'm back up to 173 lbs at one point I was at 125 or 126. I have also developed a fistual that food gets caught in and rots causing me to have infections. I swallowed a pill came in SF 2 months ago and it showed that I have several and sever lesions that bleed and get infected. I get the lesions from food contamination. I have horrible stomach pain and have passed out from the loss of blood. I'm terried what is going to happen with this revision. I know that I'm praying for a different quality of life from what I have now.

Mari- OMG the surgery has come so far in the last 2 decades, you have no idea. When I first went in the doctor told me I would be out in a few days when I first had my surgery I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. The way they do the procedure with the laporscopy (sp) is incrediable. I have a scar from the top if my sturnum all the way to my belly button. The procedure is completely different the did a stapleing with a horizontal RYN kinda of thing. My little brother just had a RNY and was up and about 1 week later returning to work 2 weeks later, he is SO healthy I can't believe it. I wouldn't worry about doing it today.... You'll be fine.
