The REST of the story.....

After I finally got the Insurance company to fax the approval letter for 1 DAY, I got the office to request the 3 days (minimum that they said I need) hospitalization. The wouldn't even do that without a paper copy of the 1 day approval. While the BCBS woman kept putting me on hold, I called the Dr. office, and told them that they were again claiming that they didn't have all the information that they needed and that I wanted them to fax a copy immediately to the insurance company so that BCBS would finally get the message that I am not going to go away. When the insurance co. came back online.... she told me that they couldn't review me for 3 days until they had all of my paperwork. I told them the DR. faxed it. She said let us know when they send it. I said, "Ok, they sent it!" She said no, when they send it, and I said, "No, the JUST sent it! So review it!" She said, "No, they need to send it" I said, put me on hold and check the fax machine. She said, "I can't tie up the phone line to do that" I said, "why not, you have had me on hold for hours now, go do it, and come tell me you got it cause......... they just faxed it and I don't care if we have to drown you under 200 lbs of paper, we will keep faxing and faxing and faxing until you finally get busy and get your review done, because I am tired of waiting for this approval. This is ridiculous, I have been waiting on YOU SINCE JANUARY 19" For some reason, she decided to check on the fax. Suposedly, 24 to 28 hours they can review it and give approval for 3 day hospitalization (since 1 day would be life-threatening!). I will believe that when I see it!!!!!

Hi Hon I am with you and if you need to talk I am here I have been fighting since July and finally got approved in December however, mine was a lot of appts. then I was denied then I got a case manager from my insurance company who was wonderful though so, she helped me get my decision overturned and I thank her. I hope and pray everything goes ok for you and if the insurance companies could just see how hard we try to do every little thing to make them happy jumping through whatever kind of hoops they want us too there should be no questions of approvals but goodluck and I will be rooting for you.......
