My primary said some gastric bypass patients will stop absorbing and have to go to shots, that's why they check it so often. It's not your fault.

Yea, I've tried to pay attention to the water and the chewing, etc. myself since then. I don't ever want to experience that again!
re: other post - I hope you can find another doc that you like as well. Do you live in an area with plenty of choices? Wishing you well!

That's kinda what happened to me last friday when I was doubled over in pain. I've never felt anything quite like that. I guess we really need to get loads of water and chew and chew and chew and chew. Pills can be a real treat. I'm just very careful since the incident.

Hi Ronda,
I am currently taking the bariatric advantage vitamins, iron .. etc... I do however forget them on occasion but I can't understand how I can get this bad just missing a few doses here and there.
I still hurt everytime I eat these days. My stomach just cramps under my ribs. Feels like a major case of gas that I can't get rid of and I swell so bad. To top it all off my Doctor is leaving the practice and moving away.
He's a great Doc and I am really gonna miss him.
And..... yes Dr. Louis did tell me that he would do a revision on the breast and the top of my stomach. He is such a sweetheart and I know he will take care of me.
Thanks for your warm thoughts!

Thanks for responding Rae. I was wondering if the vitamin levels might be a side effect of the Ulcer especially the anemia. I don't go to the nutritionist or the Do****il the 21st of february so I feel like I"m in limbo and I just plan feel rotten. I'm going to pick myself up and double up on my calcium and my iron and see if that helps.
Thanks again for the well wishes!

Donna, I am not sure why he used staples. But they are all gone now. I Had stitches on my hips and the ones on my left side are still there. He had to drain some fluid (old blood) off that side when I went on Wednesday to get the other half of the staples off and said he wanted to keep them in for another week so it would re-open. I have steri strips on the back and on both sides.
So far the swelling is going down each week.
How long did your swelling last?

Topic: Ever get something stuck?
OK gang,
Have any of you ever gotten something stuck in your pouch? like a pill?
I had the worst experience this week with chest pain. I was lightheaded, shaky, and hurting. It happened while I was in the Dr. office for something else. Well, several hours and a cardiologist later, everything went away as quickly as it appeared. Of course my heart is fine.
I wasn't dumping - I hadn't had much to eat that day and no sugar anyway. The only thing I can figure is that some of the tablets that I took got stuck in the pouch and caused all this grief.
Do you think that could be it?
Fine now,
Ronda
