Topic: One Year Re-Birth was Yesterday
Hi every one how are you all doing I am doing fine well my rebirth was origanally yesterday but I had a DSL problem and couldn't post. I have met my goal of 149lbs from 231lbs but have since gained 9lbs due to the fact that I am now 8wks pregnant according to sonogram, with my sixth child. I do hope it is a boy bc I have 3 girls and 2 boys already. God knows I want a boy but I'll have to take what ever he gives me as long as it's healthy I'll be fine. BOY! BOY! Sharon

Topic: One Year Update
Well today is the day! Not only is it my daughter's 12th birthday but my 1 year Rebirthday. The last year has had it's ups and downs but in one year I have more energy, healthier, and most of all grateful for the surgery, for my family and for the wonderful people on here. So thank you all for your support over the last year with my posts and to all Pre-ops my 1 yr advice - hang in there when times seem tough, use this board as a support because it's the only place where others truly can relate and use the database which has helped me answer questions. Thanks again! Brenda Pre-Op - 261 1 Year - 151

Hi Donna...I ping pong on the same 3 or 4lbs...but then eventually drop and extra pound or two. We'll see how long that last. As far as your diet, remember your body needs fuel to burn fuel. I would add a protien rich bfast to your diet and not sure what kind of cheese you are eating, but if it has lots of fat, try getting your calories from something more nutritious. You can probably eat a large salad and chicken breast for the same calories you get from the moz sticks. Just a thought. Wishing you well! Rachel PS...I hear ya on the boobs...mine have hardly gone down at all!!!

I know what you mean about the psycological part. I mean, we had this surgery to save our lives, but were left 'disfigured' for lack of a better word. A breast cancer patient has her breast removed to save her life. And thank God insurance pays for that reconstruction no questions asked. Just my two cents on the matter. Hope you find a way to pay! You know I think that if Insurance pays for us to have the surgery they should have to pay for us to get all the skin cut off... That comes with loosing the weight... Sorry to hear about your bad news... I will find out my news in 4 to 6 weeks... The Dr think I should not have no problem cause mine hangs past the pubic area and he said when its that bad insurance would pay.. We will see... If not all they require is me going to Dr with rashes and problems And then the Dr writing a letter refering me to a plastic surgeon... Then the plastic surgeon writing a letter sayin how he thinks a TT would help me.. And then to Insurance... Wish you lots of luck getting the money... I will be doin that soon.. With getting my thighs and BOOBS done... Jennifer

It's one of those good news bad news moments. Good news - I can have my tummy tucked! The surgeon said I could go ahead and schedule a surgery date for an abdominoplasty. She said I'm already "at goal..." and not to think about losing any more. She said I can get it done in as little as three weeks from now. Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Perfect! Bad news - (saw it coming a mile away!) Is that she said there's "no way" insurance would cover it. It's purely "cosmetic." ::sigh:: The only medical issue I have is my mad varicose veins - and those were damage from the fat. My first reaction is - it's really not cosmetic, it's psychological! Removing the excess skin would help me to see that I really AM a smaller self - and not just a shriveled fat person. IT would help immensely - to fit into clothing properly - to look somewhat normal and not like a deformity. It's not only that - I am in need of more than plastics on the abdomen, I also need my arms fixed in a bad way, I have no chest left whatsoever (no really, I'm one size away from a training bra), my thighs are flapping in the breeze... all of those I assume are completely and utterly considered cosmetic, so I didn't even think about consulting for them yet. I'll need to sell my ovaries or something for those. Anybody got a spare $5 spot?? I mean, a spare $5,ooo?? ::sigh:: I suppose, $1 from 5,000 people would work! ::off to figure out how to come up with that kind of cash on short notice... I'd really love to be done with this before NEXT year... you know? I'm ready to be done with the "transformation." http://meltingmama.blogspot.com Beth Someday I'll fly, someday I'll soar, someday I'll be so much more than my body gives me credit for. Why is it not my time? What is there more to learn? Shed this skin I've been tripping in, never to quite return... -J. Mayer

Topic: Weight Gain
Just curious if anyone has had a 6lb weight gain before. I've been staying between 180-174lbs for the past 3-4 months now. My normal eating is way too many carbs I know but calorie wise it's really not that much. Breakfast I rarely eat Lunch I normally have about 5-7 ounces of Lasagna -package is 360 calories but I rarely eat the whole thing. Dinner normally is 3 mozarella sticks. I actually lost a pant size and am down to a 14 very good. I can wear a 12 jacket (little snug but the 14 is too big), I can't get rid of my overly large rear end and the huge boobs. The boobs just make me look fat and dumpy in my opinion because I'm short 5'1". Btw, I did add some new pics. My husband says that in the tub I look like I am floating in a sack. It's gross. The legs are sooo saggy I look horrific. I like to wear shorts but darned if that option is too disgusting for me to even think about. I'm curious if I'm the only one who has stalled for this length of time. I see others who have surpassed my results by far and it's very frustrating. And on that note I'll quit whinning. 339/174-180 past 3-4 days
