Topic: NEW PIC ON PROFILE!
OK GUYS, I finally got a picture of myself!! I'm not scared to take them now!! I have more pics coming but for now, this one is it. I weigh in at 182, a total of 130 pounds lost since my re-birth on April 20, 2004!! Let me know what you think, and if anybody knows how I can go in and put my weight under my pic, please inform me, cause I went into update my profile, and I can't figure out all those computer terms! So if any of you are more computer literate than myself, please shed some light on this subject for me! Thanks!

Topic: Size positive art & photography?
From:
meltingmama.blogspot.com/2005/07/size-positive-art-photography.html
At The Beauty Curve.com - 28 year old Shyly, who is 5'4" and 320 lbs shares her size-positive art, mainly in the form of photos of herself, taken by professional photographers. There is nudity, in the photo gallery, so use discretion. This website took me by surprise, mainly because I was exactly the same size as she is, and I can't ever imagine I'd be so at ease with sharing it.
What do you think?
"Q: Why did you decide to do this website? What's the point of modeling?
A: There is a clear lack of images portraying any real kind of body diversity in the American culture. Most people do not see themselves or their concerns reflected realistically by the media. My role models never look like me. When I look out at the world, I do not see myself reflected back at me. The message is clear - I am not welcome. I am other."

What a great sister - to deal with such nerve and rudeness is such a classy way. You must be so very proud of her. What right does anyone have to comment on another's bodies that way? Please give her a big hug for those of us who have also walked or are walking in her shoes.
She is a strong woman.

Things have gotten pretty quiet 'round here, but we do keep in touch. I'd actually like to gather everybodies email addresses to set up a mailing list for future updates... etc... since this board is so sloooow....

Congratulations on your upcoming little bundle!
I'm trying to avoid getting pregnant at all costs - STAY AWAY! It spreads, you know! (I'm already overloaded with children)

WTG Lori's sister! That takes some serious balls. Especially if she can be calm and maintain class about saying something, you know?
My MIL is very morbidly obese, and when folks say something about her/the family (many are also big), she's the first to respond, but it's not at all classy. I have walked away and pretended not to know her when it's happened. Thank goodness it hasn't happened in a very long time.
