I did my monthly weigh today and I almost hit the floor. I weigh 139 lbs. I can not believe it. I weighed 138 lbs in 9th grade 23 years ago. I am 5'8 so that is a great weight for me. I dare not tell my daughter because she weighs 138 lbs and her jealousy is bad. I was thinking I never thought I would be this successful. I honestly thought I would get to about 165 lbs and stay there because in high school my weight ranged from 150-165. I am not even trying to loose more weight because I made my personal goal at 148. the weight just keeps coming off. I think I will only get concerned if I go below 135 lbs. I keep seeing post of everyone having difficulties these days. I myself am having some complications. Severe abdominal pains. I've had an Upper GI, having a CAT Scan on Saturday and then an EGD on Monday. They are looking for either ulcers or an inguinal hernia. I wonder if complications are more likely at this stage of surgery???????? BTW, the good news isssssss.. that my little pouchie is still quite little. My gorgeous Dr. Beetle said that the pouch was as good as they could hope for. Very little stretching. It basically looks like a tiny bulge at the end of the esophagus (well pass the narrow opening that is). Which really makes me feel better since I've been drinking 5-6 cans of diet coke a day. I'm now trying to ween myself off. I figure it's probably the reason behind any ulcer formation. I am currently on Nexium and Carafate which seems to be keeping the pain at bay. So How many of you out there are having complications??????

I am new to the message boards and had surgery on 4-13-04 and am loving it and so is my doctor. I have lost 60 lbs so far and a total of 103 since i started the whole process. would like to hear some encouragement to keep going if anyone has some that would be great teresa
