Poll ~~~ When to eat......
Hi all. I'm always trying to find better ways NOT to overeat, or eat between meals. Therefore, during the work week, I put myself on a schedule. I portion out my food too, between 3-5 oz per meal.
Brk 8:30 am
Lun Between 11:00 & 12:00
Snk 2:30 pm
Din Between 5:00 & 6:00 pm
On the weekend I am flexible. And normally don't eat as much.
Does anyone do this? And if so does it work for you? Any other suggestions are great. Thanks !
Louanne,
I kind of stick to a schedule
I eat breakfast between 7:30 and 8, which is either a cup of oatmeal (I like the apples and cinnimon reduced sugar kind) or my old reliable carb countdown yogurt.
I eat lunch about 1:00 pm
and dinner between 4:30 and 6.
I do not really snack but if I am still hungry before I go to bed I may grab some cheese and crackers, or small bowl of cerial.
Again this is not a planned schedule just seems to be my daily routine.

WOW, all the 3 meals and hardly any snacks....I am on a schedule but it involves 6 mini-meals per day, sometimes only 5, but usually 6...
5:30 am - on my way to work, I drink a protein drink
8:00/9:00 Breakfast - could be cottage cheese, or left over dinner
11:30-1:00 typically sometime during this timeframe - perhaps low fat/high protein tv dinner (lean cuisine, etc)
3:00-4:00 timeframe This is my MOST critical snack....my blood sugar drops...typically eat sometime of protein, cheese, cottage cheese w/no sugar added pineapple
6:00 roughly - dinner - always protein first
9:00 ish snack - low sugar oatmeal, cheese, sometype of protein
Before surgery, cottage cheese would never cross my lips, under no conditions....now, I can't seem to get enough of it...love it with fresh pineapple...I buy 2 large containers a week - one for home, one for work
Also, try to have some fruits and veggies each day...
Also, I find that if I don't eat something before bed, I do not feel well in the mornings....
If I only ate 3 meals per day, first, I wouldn't/couldn't get in enough nutrition, and my blood sugar would not be stable...
BTW, I am 16 months out
