Okay, we're all almost one year out. What is your goal to lose before your one year is up? How much will that make your total loss? How much more until your personal goal? 13 to Dr. goal 125 loss Want to lose another 5 or so after that to my personal goal. It's really getting hard for me. I forgot what I was supposed to be doing and put on 9 lbs. I've got 6 of those back off, but what a wake-up call!! I don't know why I have to like chocolate so well. And, has anyone tried the new Snickers that extra protein, etc. The one I had today is 220 calories and 18 grams sugar, 9 grams protein. This is an only once in a great while treat for me. Unfortunately the sugar doesn't make me dump anymore. They are also making some with 20 grams of protein, but I can't find them around here. Janie Lap RNY 4/14/2004 272/163/145?

I would like to loose 10 more pounds by my one year date which will put me at 164. My ultimate goal is 150 so I will then have 14 pounds to go. Dianne 340/174/150

Hi Janie, Its hard to believe its been 10 months for me (I had my surgery 4/27). So only two months to my anniversary. I'm hoping to lose 5 more lbs and that will put me at my personal goal of being in a "normal" weight range for my height, and a total weight loss of 95lbs. Then over the next year, I'll probably start playing the diet game just to see if I can lose a bit more perhaps 10 over the next year. Then that will give me a 10lb give or take range to play in for the rest of my long, healthy life. Rachel 239/150/145...and beyond...

Janie- I had my little heart set on reaching my "personal goal" at one-year out on April 5th, 2005. I just the other day changed my goal-date on my Fitday log... http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.htmlOwner=butterflymamaof3 - from that date to May 1st, 2005. Seeing the weekly total loss needed amount going up and up was making me nuts, so I figured I'm going to get there no matter what, who cares if it's by one year or a little later, right? My personal goal is to get to 130- (middle of the medically correct range for my height-- range is 114-151 lbs) So- that's 19 lbs left. My doc's goal is unknown to me, they didn't really ever tell me how much to lose, but that I'd probably lose 60-80% excess, but I'm aiming for a 100% loss. Technically, I've already done it, since I'm in the range! As for the Snickers, no-- I couldn't dare try it. I dump, on sugar and sugar alcohols, and many fat/carb combinations. I dump on many protein bars, even those with low low sugar amounts or no sugar alcohols. As much as I'd love a good candy bar, I have pretty much ended all chocolate, unless it's a piece of 85% cocoa dark chocolate, which is mostly cocoa, and not much else. It takes the urge away and is bitter as heck, so I don't crave more. Fruit has recently replaced all snacking for me... it's carbs, but in a different state... I'm starting to feel like I'm eating like a typical skinny chick, B e t h _______________________________________ when it rains it pours and opens doors and floods the floors we thought would always keep us safe and dry -train ________________________________________ HW- 313 SW- 298 CW- 149 GWR- 114/151 Journal- http://meltingmama.blogspot.com/ Pix- http://community.webshots.com/user/msooyl Email- [email protected] IM- bethlbutterfly

My surgery was 4/21/04, I was weighed at the OB GYN's office the other day and I weighed 155, started at 258. My goal is 148, which is 7 lbs, but my ultimate goal is 140 so basically I need to loose 15 more lbs by April 21. Lori

Hello surgery sister!!! LEt's see, my MD changes my goal everytime I see him...grrrrr...this past time, he put my goal at 145. He said he would be happy if I reached 160 by my 1 yr appt, tho (actually in May, since my 9 month was late..ooops!!!) Anyway, I wasn't losing, but have been a saint (halo only a tad off...) the past 2 weeks, and have lost 10 lbs during that time. I was 177, now 167. I am hoping to be 155 by my year, so I need to keep it up!!!! My personal goal seems to change everytime I go shopping and what sizes fit/don't fit that day. I think, realistically, I would like to be 135 or so, but I will be happy with the 145. I am only 5'3", so in order for "normal", I would have to be, I think, 124 or so.... Janice

Well, for weight goals..... Started at 274 (day of surgery) Currently (as of today) 193 I wanted to be at 174 by my one year....that MAY be a little unrealistic, I would settle for 184!!! My ultimate goal is 135 (I'm 5'3") My goal is to hit that by thanksgiving this year!!!

Hi there Janie! I guess I'd have to start by saying that I've surpassed every goal I had for myself. I never expected to get below 200 lbs, and I never expected to get below a size 16. I sit here at 192 and wearing a pair of Size 10 jeans (it's casual Friday at the office) and I'm pretty much in shock when I look at the jeans off my body, then see them button up on me. I can't imagine that I wear anything that small! My one year is in 27 days (I'm an April Fool's baby) so my 1 year goals are rather realistic. My goal is to maintain the loss I have and lose 2 more lbs this month. This loss would put me at the optimal weight per my body analyst (he did a underwater weighing for true body mass analysis). I'm already in the "normal range" with a BMI of 24 and I feel GREAT! I haven't tried the snickers, because refined sugar is not a part of my food plan. I dump like the dickens, and can't be trusted to eat sugar - if I started I wouldn't stop. Sugar Free chocolate is all that's passed my lips for this entire year.
