Hi everybody, Just looking for opinions...I am just about out of my regular daily vitamin and it is time to refill my cabinet. So I've been thinking of trying One-A-Day's Carb Smart vitamin...it is supposed to help with the processing of food for those on a high protein/low carb lifestyle. I pretty much fit in that category. My blood tests have been fine and no changes are required, but I'm always looking for ways to improve. So what do you think? Take Care,

I personally think it's a marketing ploy. My doctor's basic opinion is that vitamins are cheap so don't go paying for special ones that are really the same. She doesn't believe in the vitamins marketed for bariatric patients either. I just take Sam's club brands Centrum version. I buy my iron at the pharmacy because it's super cheap ($3 for 100) also my 15 mg zinc tablets. I think they are $2.65 for 50. I would talk to your doctor before you spend extra money on something that may not work any differently. Dawn

Please, check to make sure they dissolve quickly...some vitamins are coated in so much lacquer, that they don't dissolve for us. A good test is to put one in vinegar. It should disolve rather quickly...We tried this with one a bariatric nurse (the viamin went in the vinegar, not the nurse...) and it didn't dissole. Next week, she sent out an e-mail saying it was still there...not good at all!!! Janice

Janice, That's a good idea. Tonight I am going to do a little scientific experiment with all my vitamins. My husband will surely think I am off my rocker now. Like he didn't before... Dawn

I love my liquid vitamins! I know they get absorbed better than tablets. I use "Doctors Brand" and I buy them online at doctorsbrand.com. Ronda

I take children's gummy bear vitamins. They are essentially candy with vitamins in 'em. I adore them. Those and the Viactivs are my candy fixes. Beth 'How puzzling all these changes are,' said Alice. Hi Josie, I have been taking Bariatric Advantage chewable vitamins since my surgery in April. They taste good and are specifically designed for Bariatric patients so they absorb well. I take two calcium chewables in the morning. two multiples in the afternoon and one iron at night. My bloodwork has always been good and I feel great so I guess they are working for me. THe other good thing about them is they renew them automatilcally so I get a new package in the mail each month. Good luck, Pete
