Diet or struggle to get it in?
I am interested in knowing how many april folks are still struggling to get in there 800- 1000 calories or if there are others besides me *****ally have to watch because they can eat? I did the cottage cheese test the other day and could eat 5.5 ounces. Any one else done this. My loss has really slowed and I dont dump often. I am back on track for the most part and am upping my excercise. Just curious how others are doing at this point, I according to the doc am about 30 lbs from goal but 50 lbs from what society would see as normal weight.

I have never counted my calories.. Hmmmm
I wonder just how many of these I am actually getting in a day?
maybe I'll count today to see...
hmmm how many calories does coffee with splenda and creamor have in it?
I'm guessing I probably get in somewhere to 1000 calories a day.. at least for the last couple of days..I have been eating like a pig!!
yesterday I had 1/2 of a turkey wrap with american cheese from subway..w/ 4 dorito's
3 oz of banana nut select cereal
a cereal bowl of popcorn
a slice of pizza
and a protein shake..with 2 % milk
I also had unsweet tea & water about 32 oz ..
I hate cottage cheese so I won't be doing that test any time soon. I can definetly eat more. when I track in fit day it's usually around 1000 calories, I don't always track. My weight loss fluctuates. The more protien less carbs I eat the more I loose, last month 15 pounds, the month before that only 7. I don't exercise enough.

Okay, I just looked at my Fitday report from the past month.
Calories: 615
Fat: 32
Carbs: 34
Fiber: 3
Protein: 47
I *know* this month is distorted because I tend to forget to log my evening snack, and this past month has been filled with lots of grazing and snacks at parties that didn't get logged at all. I didn't journal on the party days, I just ate what I wanted in moderation avoiding sugars to not get sick. So, my average is low this month... but even looking back my average doesn't stray far from 500-800 cals.
On a NORMAL day, I'd say I eat about 800? I do not "count" calories, though, I try to hit 50 grams of protein and I'd like to limit my carbs to under 25 a day. I also don't count fat grams, because I eat so many! :-x
Some days I hit 1000 or just over, but those seem to be the GRAZING days, or the days I am eating badly. Even if 1000 cals is what we should be having, when I get to that many, it's always the wrong kind of food!!
The minute I start eating carbohydrates, the calories SHOOT up with the carb count... it's amazing how little carbs = so many extra calories. It's hard for ME to eat 1000 calories of protein loaded food. Carb loaded food, I could go way past 1000 calories! Maybe this is the secret?! All protein all the time is the only way I seem to lose... not a bite of refined flours or sugars... which I've been struggling with, hence the animal crackers, and no losses. :-x
Oh, and FTR, I drink entirely WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much coffee/espresso/light cream.......... I am very easily "drinking" 1-3 meals a day of coffee/espresso/light cream or fat free cream....... those light cream calories and fat add up VERY VERY fast, so I over calculate the amount I use.... I use a lot less at home than I do if I order coffee out. I refuse to use milk in coffee (spew!) It's high in carbs, and it takes too much to "lighten" the coffee. I'll drink it in a latte, if I must - but that's a meal since it's 6-8 oz of steamed milk... which is protein!! Drinking your calories is bad news for us post-ops, I know. Coffee has pretty much zero nutrition and calories, but what we add to it is always bad news. If I ever start gaining weight, I know the light cream will be cut... but I will blame it on the cheese first. :-x Hey, I *could be drinking 2 liter bottles of Diet Vanilla Coke again!! I gave soda up COMPLETELY almost a year ago... and I was a huuuuuuuuuuge soda fan.... albeit I always drank "diet"--- it's still battery acid!

I can get calories in most days. It does happen from time to time that I have a sensitive pouchie, but in general I can eat. And I can eat lots more than ever before as a post op.
I can actually eat most of a skinny-person's portion. It is a little disconcerting sometimes to look down and see that empty plate in front of me. But, I accept it, and know that its normal. And if thats the amount that skinny people eat and stay skinny at. . .then its ok for me too.
How Tall are you Annette? We have very similar goal weights.

My loss has always been slow so I'm not seeing to much of a change at any one time. I also can eat way more than I used to and really try to watch it...yesterday wasn't a great day for me...I had three...count them three slices (very thin slices) of pizza...so bad. I am between 800-1000 per day...usually if I'm really really good only 600 and if I'm really really bad about 1200, but always my 60-80g of protein. I'm a lot farther from goal because I am so short, but I keep tracking and keep exercising...I know I can...IKNOWICAN...IKNOWICAN.
