I have actually had this problem for a while...I feel like I need to eat all the time! I have been eating basically whatever I want with no problems (except sugar or even sugar free). And then I am hungry just a couple of hours later! For example, this morning I ate a protein bar for breakfast at 7. Then I drank water all morning. Now it is 9 and I am reaching for a few handfuls of peanuts. What can I do to curb my appetite? Help! Aimee

I seem to eat/snack all day as well..mostly..peanuts,beef jerky, cereal(fiber)coffee, iced tea w/ splenda,crackers,pretzels.. a lot of carby stuff... ughhhh so I know what ya mean.

I too am hungry every few hours...so I eat....what I do NOT do is graze constantly. I eat 6 SMALL meals a day....it amounts to about every 3 hours. No I do not drink with meals. I find that giving myself permission to eat every 3 hours really keeps me honest...also, I don't feel like I am missing anything....also, I find that I do not eat much junk food because I know I have a "meal" coming up.... obviously I am NOT eating "normal" sized meals...obviously normal for me now was not normal prior to surgery. Also, I find that if I do not eat every few hours my blood pressure drops and I get dizzy and cranky...my husband is the one who brought it to my attention...in fact, on the weekends we will get busy and he will ask...don't you need to eat...I always have to laugh....I will ask him...am I getting cranky? My dietian is comfortable with my eating schedule and it works for me....personally, if I ate only 3 meals a day, there is NO way I would get in enough nutrition or calories....also, one of my meals is a protein drink, typically breakfast or right before bed....I MUST eat soemthing or drink a protein drink right before bed otherwise I wake up not feeling well. So, your question sounds normal to me. RAE

Hi Aimee, You sound just like me. I can graze all day and I don't dump on much. How many times a day do you eat? I eat 5 meals a day. I can't each much in one sitting and I can't do the more than 30 minute rule, so I just plan out 5 meals a day. I write out an eating plan at the begininng of each week. Depeding on the time of month, 2 of my 'meals' are more like snacks because I'm not as hungry right after my period. My eating plan keeps me from thinking about food all day. Even still I have good and bad days. Hope this helps. Rachel

I have been having the same problem....mostly at work as I sit at a desk all day....boring. Anyway, to get control of this I am trying something new for me. I log my planned food for the day all at once every morning on fitday. Then I eat the planned food and only whats planned whenever I want it throughout the day, once I fini**** all, thats it. This seems to be helping some. My next step is to eat each thing at a given time of day, to get into more of a routine. One of my big problems is if I have a day that I feel I've over eaten, I typically lose weight! So, I still haven't figured out how much I need to get in, in relation to what I'm expending with exercise, life in general and taking into consideration the malabsorption thing too. If I follow my doctors rules to a "T" then I don't lose at all, if I eat more than he suggests I lose. Because of this I hadn't had a lot of motivation to what the grazing, but I know if I don't get a handle on it now I will have big trouble when maintenance time rolls around.

Aimee- I eat constantly. I feel hungry every 2-3 hours or less! I MUST have protein snacks and foods on hand or I will graze like a heifer on things I shouldn't have. I figure at least my worst evils now are cheese, cheese and more cheese. I typically eat about five mini-meals........ which translates into: BF- Carb Countdown Smoothie SN- 2 string cheeses (or 1 string cheese and 1 oz ham/turkey) LU- 2-3 oz ham/turkey... SN- More of the same or just an iced coffee or latte DI- Protein from dinner made for kids... (like tonight, it's lasagna without noodles) (SN- if I have a late night snack, it's usually more of the same, or ONE "treat".... aka a Barry's Bakery Twist, a bite of Keto ice cream, one REAL cookie, etc..... whatever I want, up to three bites of real sugar food or one serving of something low sugar....) -Beth 313/298/157/130

I am the same way. I eat every two hours or so. I am told that it is good for metabolism to eat a small amount every two hours and that I should have six small meals everyday. I just avoid mindless grazing.
