Ok Ladies (and gents) what are you doing this year for the holidays? And what present did you get for yourself? I'll go first: I am going to spend xmas eve with my dear one's family rolling tamales in the traditional mexican way. (even a gringa can learn right?) I will also be going to my former boss's house for family xmas. Xmas day I'll be most likely hanging with my roommate at his parent's house and perhaps hanging out with friends. Present for me: Losing 192 lbs has made my body much more boney - on the backside as much as the front. I have discovered that I had a HARD BED! I was waking up aching in the morning at every point of my body that came in contact with the mattress. So, I got myself soft new flannel sheets, a new squishy pillow and a Magic Foam mattress pad - the kind that conforms to your body shape. It was onsale at target this week and it is a little slice of heaven. I can sleep again! It is a daily reminder of just what a good girl I have been this year. Huggles and love to all my peeps, ~Lara

Howdy Lara! Season's Greetings! Let's see...since we are the only family we have here in TX, my dh,2kiddos, and myself are going to have a quiet X-mas. DH invited one of his single friends from work (who was also transferred down here last yr) to X-mas dinner. I am making a ham with all of the ooey-gooey fixings. I can't wait to stare at the food and drool as I take a small bite of ham and lick the marshmellows off of the sweet potatoes..LOL My gift to myself was given to me in April...my surgery. A healthier me is all I could have asked for (well...besides a Lamborghini, Prada dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, and a butt you could bounce a quarter off of ) I like your idea of comfy things for the bedroom. I have noticed that since aquiring bones, I can feel every spring in the bed. Hmmm...I'll have to have a chat with Santa.... As for your plans, I hope you have a great time! Tamales...MMMMMMM..roll a few for me!!! Merry X-mas! Janice 346/310/188/160

I did my Christmas with my family on Saturday, I'm going to go to a movie with a friend on Christmas eve and she's making me go to church, then over to my dad's for a quiet dinner and video. I'm not planning on buying anything right now because of my move, but after the move I want to get a sleep number bed. Who knows if I'll have the money, I may have to wait till my first raise. Christmas ... Well, we had my DH office party today, my office party tomorrow, my family over on Friday, his family over Saturday & we will relax on Sunday. Presents ... The biggest thing I have given myself this year is forgivness ... I have decided to forgive the old "Fat" me for being so hard on her & for beating her up (mentally). I have decided, the new healthy me gets to take control in 2005 & I think that is a wise choice. Physical presents ... well I bought myself some new fleece jammies & wrapped them up under the tree with a label that says "From Santa". A girlfriend wrote the label & my husband will be dumbfounded as to where the present came from My old fleece jammies are a 3X & I am now in a 1X or XL. I decided after the last time I wore them, and they fell down as I was walking that it was time to retire them. Happy Holidays! Sue 317.5/210/180 (or less)

I've decided to splurge and go and buy myself some silk long underwear. I'm freezing all the time and my friend got some from Famous Barr for 50% off (they always have great sales). I used to be hot all the time before the surgery, now I'm always cold. I forgot I also bought myself a bathrobe a few weeks ago, which I need deparetely as mine was a 4x and falling apart, well, my sister gave me the exact same one on Saturday. I think I will take it back and get a Medium so when I can no longer wear the XL I'll have it. How low would I have to get down too, to wear a medium, does anyone know? Tonight, me and 2/3rds of the children are heading out to see the Nutcracker with my mom, it's part of her gift to the kids... Tommorrow we're home, as far as I know... I'll need to wrap all the presents when the kids go to bed... though it's a light Santa year, so it won't be too bad. Christmas morning we stay home, open the Santa presents, have a homemade breakfast... I usually make a big to-do about breakfast, but it will be noticeably different this year, since Mom & Dad are both eating light. I used to make French Toast Casserole, Emerils' Spicy Sausage/Egg Dish, Bacon, etc.... I'm thinking it will be just simple, maybe cinnamon rolls for the kids and bacon for us....and fruit....or something I can make overnight in the crockpot... After breakfast, my parents are coming over to open presents, when they go home, we'll head to my DH's families house for Christmas dinner and more presents... The kids get overloaded there with presents... we'll come home with a carload. The day after- we head to my familys' shindig in Boston, for food and merriment... The theme this year is the Red Sox, which puts a strange twist on the potluck dinner... I'm making chili-- which doesn't really fit the theme- but I don't know if I can handle beer and hot dogs?!? As for presents, I asked Santa-baby for--- a new setting for my diamond engagement ring (it's been sized twice, too big again, and the band is beat).... diamond solitaire earrings .... a GC for a day of pampering at the spa.... Santas' broke though--- so he's not bringing anything, ... I'll get presents from family though--- and I'm sure I'll have a self-indulgent shopping trip after Christmas with gift-cards. I have to say it's just a merry Christmas without a damn thing under the tree going from over 300 lbs last Christmas to 160 this time around! -Beth 313/298/160/126

Dh finally noticed that our mattress and box springs were truly shot so last week he bought us a new set. So nice and firm and no springs poking in to me! Early in the month I bought myself a new pair of black leather ankle boots - they look so great with my size 12 jeans and black pants - long and lean! For my stocking I bought a pedometer to help me track just how much walking I get in with the shopping and walking around the college campus - I need to find out if I'm getting anywhere near enough exercise that way! LOL I'm really looking forward to the kids Christmas. My 6 year old really is in to Santa this year and very excited and i think my 2.5 year old will enjoy the presents as well though he doesn't really understand what is going on. We exchanged kid gifts with my brother's family yesterday. We plan to attend a Christmas Eve church service tomorrow night and then attend my MIL's family gathering at her sister's house afterward. For Xmas morning I will cook some breakfast and let the kiddos open presents, MIL is coming over for lunch as well as my mom and grandmother...then in the afternoon we are going to my other MIL's house to have dinner and exchange presents with that side of the family. (Yes, I have 2 MIL's eeeek!) Unfortunately the baby woke up this morning with a fever so we'll have to wait and see how he's feeling before we leave the house. It's pretty likely that this may turn out to be a quiet Christmas at home. Aylene Mom to two boys Lap RNY 4/13/04
