TUMMY TUCK??WL SURGEON OR PLASTIC SURGEON???
Lily-
I only know of one person here who already had a TT done... but I don't see her post anymore...
I know for me, I've gotta be at a stable weight for a while and then go for it... I'll use a plastic surgeon, I didn't know bariatric docs did tummy tucks too?! That's quite useful!

Thats me.. Thats me.. Im back.. My profile is back.. Yeah I had a TT.. But from a board certified plastic surgeon. I dont dig the idea opf bariatric surgeons doing plastics, just doesnt seem right. I wouldnt go to my dentist for a pap smear.. Albeit that could be interesting..

Hi Lily (is your name really Lily Potter, just like the mom from Harry Potter? HOW COOL!)
It comes down to comfort level. For me, I know many many people who have had Plastics done from very reputable plastic surgeons. I feel more comfortable doing a procedure with a specialist. If you've seen the results of his work and are satisfied, then go for it. If you haven't, then be sure to do your research.
Best wishes - I can't wait until I am at that point in my journey. My insurance won't touch me until I've had 6 months at a stable weight.

Hi Tammy,
I am probably going with a Plastic Surgeon when and if I decided to have work done...but I have chosen one that is familiar with the unique problems of WLS patients...Dr. Katzen. He has done a number of people out here in California...so I have seen his work...and is not only familiar with the problem of excess skin, but will work with our insurance companies to get it approved.
Happy Holidays,
Hi Tammy,
I have a hernia also, but I will wait till I get as close to my goal weight as possible to get as much skin removed as possible (I need to loose about 60 more pounds) that's a lot of skin. I don't want to have two surgery's.
I'm going to a plastic surgery who specializes in dealing with client's who've had this surgery. Good Luck.

Lily,
Turns out my WL Surgeon does the tummy tuck also. He is already planning it. He took pictures of my inflamed belly button just for insurance purposes. LOL I hope! I'd hate to think he had a belly button fetish. lol I still have a long way to go to get to that point yet. BUTT... I can't wait til it comes. I'd really love to have these boobs put back in the vicinity of where they should be. It's getting harder and harder not to step on them these days. All the hanging material just makes me look like a barrel. LOL Oh well, what a girl has to do to be beautiful!
Good luck on the TT.
