Not a good weigh in!

I went to get weighed today. I was very depressed....I managed to gain a pound. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is it something that's normal and to be expected? Up to this point I've lost 117 lbs. I know that's somehting to be very proud of, and I am, but just with this tiny little gain, I feel so horrible....like I'm a failure. I've got so much more to lose...I started out at 449 and now I'm 333, but this is not where I want to be...I want to be at least 200lbs if not a little lower. Please let me know if anyone else has experienced this also. I was also thinking maybe it was water gain from my cycle being near...is that possible? Thanks so much for listening. Stacy

I'm a daily weigher. I'll get slammed, but I think it helps me stay on track and I don't let it dictate my mood. From day to day I gain or lose the same two pounds all week and then magically they disappear along with an extra pound at the end of the weekend! Overall I still lose about a pound a week, I'm a super slow loser. One pound could be as simple as a little too much salt yesterday or not enough water! Don't freak. Its normal!

Hi Tina, Why would you get slammed for weighing everyday. If it doesn't freak you out and helps you stay on track...heck do what ever works! I on the other hand, choose not to weigh, because I've associated whether I'm a 'good' or 'bad' person based on the direction of the scale for so many years. So I try not to give my self head trips...ya know what I mean. Ta Ta! Rachel

Hi Stacy! I am an hourly weigher (but am doing better..I used to be anytime I passed a scale...LOL), so I know how hard it is to see the scale fluctuate in the wrong direction. I gain about 2-3 lbs with my cycle each and every month. at the end of my cycle, those lbs and usually 1-2 more are gone. Also, if i eat too much salt and not enough water, I tend to retain a bit of fluid. The first time this happened to me, I was in tears, thinking that this was it...this is where I fail and I start gaining everything back and more, like I did prior to 4/14/04. However, we are NOT going to fail!!!! It is totally natural for your body to fluctuate with what you eat and your body's cycles! You are doing AWESOME!!!!!!! Keep up the great work! Janice

i know how you feel Stacy. it jus may be water weight gain as you said. i do a monthly weigh in and for this month i weighed in on 11/23 and had only lost 3lbs. can u say crushed. but at the same tyme i had been slacking on ma protein making a lot of soups that didn't have any meat in them. so i going to concentrate on ma protein and being more consistant wit ma exercise. ma water is good but for this month i slacked on ma protein and started eatting wheat thins not realizing that there little and u get like 11 or 16 cracker wit jus 11 carbs i thought that was good and went crazy on them an then realize wait a minit these are still carbs so i got rid of them needless to say. so chec your diet are u slacking on anything? i know it's tough but hang in there the race isn't over yet we still have good stable pouches to work with. God bless hope u feel better

Boy Stacie, I know that that's gotta be scary if it has never happend before, but I gotta tell you...its totally normal. Most of us bounce up and down all the time. I will gain 3lbs around my cycle time. So for me, I only weigh in when I go for my doc appts. Then I'm always pleasantly surprised. You are down to 333 that is awesome...you are well into the Century club...hope to join you one day! Rachel
