Is your weight loss slowing down? I was doing really well, about 10-14 pounds per month but last month just 6 pounds and so far this month just 4 pounds I am glad I'm still losing but now so afraid I will never get to my goal of 130 pounds. I know I still have until April 12th, 2005 but still nervous Am I alone or is anyone else having the problem with it slowing down? Sissy 278/170/????

Mine is slowing down too and it's totally normal. My doctor told me they project it takes 18 months to get to your goal weight. I know it sounds like a long time, but think of how long it would have taken you without surgery. Hang in there. It sounds like you are right on track. Dianne 340/214/150

Sissy- Hello! We're all kinda there right now I think. You & I are in the same place just about right now, and I also have that one year anniversary in mind for hitting 130. It's just about a 2 lb loss per week to hit that at this point... but it's so hard to lose anything now! Beth 313/298/165/130

Hi there Sissy, First off - TAKE A BOW!!! You're doing FANTASTIC!!!! 108 lbs in 7 months and some change is NOTHING to sneeze at!! Take a bow lady! - Secondly, I read your profile and was wondering what other kinds of goals you have that aren't weight related - How is playing with your son? How are your workout goals with that treadmill? What size are you in now? Since like me, you've been obese for a long time, we tend to have much more dense bones and larger organs. It means that we tend to be smaller sized with higher weights. The only way to know what a good goal weight is to go to a body analyst and be underwater weighed. Another option is to have a electrical impedence test done. It's not as accurate as underwater weighing - but it will be far more accurate than some chart on a drs wall. This can be done at most fitness centers that have a good personal trainer program. I wish you the very best and I am SO PROUD of you and your wonderful progress. To answer your question, my montly weight loss is all in my profile on a graph. I am still losing rather quickly this month as well - 10-11 lbs so far - which is slightly lower for me, but is what I expect as I am getting ever closer to my ultimate goal weight. Also, what my program tells me is that it is the first 18 months that we often continue to lose during. I hope this makes you feel better - because you're doing FANTASTIC!!! ~Lara

I am 5'2" and started at 274. As of today I am down to 202. I am a slow loser. I average a pound a week. Now thats slow!!!! I give myself mini goals so I can feel successful and attain them in a reasonable amount of time. My next one is to weigh 199 by christmas eve. I also wanted to be at goal by a year, but that doesn't look like it will happen, so I've revised my goal. I want to be at 174, or -100 by my anniversary date of 4/23/05! Your body will do as it pleases, enjoy your loss so far!

Sissy, Ok, you should feel better now....you are doing great....you are not a slow looser by my standards. I've lost 65 pounds since april 19th of this year - now that's a slow looser. To top it all off, i haven't lost anything since October 1st. No inches and no weight....so, count your blessings - you are doing phenominal...... it is a long hard road and if we do what we are supposed to, we will make it....it just takes time... We didn't get this fat over night and we are not going to get anywhere near skinny over night. I'm not only trying to convince you but i'm still working at convincing myself.....just remember, water, protien, exercise. And yes, exercise is important. Hang in there. I started at 305 and currently at 240.....wanting to be 170 by april 19th of 2005 - don't believe i'm going to see that so readjusted my goal to be 200 by the 19th of april. That just seems more plausible right now..... keep up the good work and good things will happen.....
