Lara- Your pix are gorgeous- I cannot get over the change, it's soooo dramatic! And, that little girl pic, how precious! Is your hair still naturally that red?
Beth
Oh Beth (you had me scared at first being logged in as your husband. . .who's name I don't recognize ),
Thank you so much for your sweet words. It blows me away to think about how far I've come. I remember being 400 lbs and being terrified that this surgery was going to make me "not look like me." Now its the pre-op photos that I don't recognize. . .I don't remember the mirror ever reporting that I looked like that!
I got that childhood photo from my sister-in-law this week. My mom made the dress, and pinafore - and embroidered the snoopy on the front. I used to love outfits like that - she made me a strawberry shortcake costume like that too! Keeping childhood photos around helped me with my transition. It was during my childhood that was the last time I wasn't morbidly obese. So I kept a photo of 9-year-old me around me so I could remember what my face looks like thin. It helped.
My hair is still quite red - but not the explosion of color that it used to be. When I was little it was like new pennies - crazy ORANGE. Now it's a more subdued Strawberry blond. The only time dye has ever touched my hair was in college when I went Purple/Pink and then Black to cover the pink. I was a bit punky in my youth.
Happy holiday Beth,
~Lara
Thank you!

is a thread that tells all about it!
It is strange, I used to look like that - and now I barely remember seeing that in the mirror.
Thanks again,
~Lara
