Lara- Glad you've got a happy pouch, mine wasn't too happy with me last night, I tried to add a slice of turkey to up the protein, and it just SAT there... Eventually it wore off and I fell asleep. Today I've just had my coffee so far.. I'll add in the food later. Beth -129

Harsh Beth, Sorry the pouchie was being mean. When mine's like that I call it The Dictator. I imagine it as being a cruel but psychotic little despot who somedays is hellbent on ensuring I don't get to eat anything. When she's being a choosie little darling I call it the princess - some days I can just tell aren't going to be good eating days. . .because her majesty doesn't feel like eating anything but cottage cheese, soy crisps and mandarin oranges (that is my standard meal - when NOTHING else works, that will. . .with only 1 exception) When being nice to me - like today I call it Pouchie - sometimes Pouchie McPoucherton. yes - I'm aware I need to get a life Its funny, when Pouchie is being nice it always makes me a bit: 1. suspicious - why is it suddenly allowing me to eat tasty things? 2. nerveous - O god, it better not be wearing off, my tool's stregnth that is. As much as I hate the dictator, and am nonplussed by the princess the fact that I can't eat whatever I want does give me some comfort that the tool works as designed. Knowing me, I pray that I never test sugar. I couldn't be trusted with the information I could handle it. I'd abuse it at this point. I am hopeful that I will get to a point in my recovery where I wouldn't ever test, and would be ok with the info if I ever did. That day is not today. (PS - I PRAYED EVERY DAY as a pre-op that I'd dump. Thank you goddess I do!) Apparently I am feeling rather wordy today. ~Lara

You're a hoot. As for dumping, yeah, I dump. I've dumped on foods that shouldn't dump! I dump on foods that should dump! I don't dump on dumpy foods sometimes, too! Protein bars make me dump, almost every time. Fruits, which I don't TOUCH make me dump. Eggs have made me dump! Though, tell my pouch, that CHOCOLATE should make me dump, after one bite, please!! Because, apparently, I can eat a fun size ANY kind of chocolate candy and not get sick. If I pu**** past one, I feel it, so I never eat more than one piece in a sitting. Now, if I can get them away from me altogether, that would be nice! I know one a day won't really hurt me, but there's this black cloud hanging over me telling me to have a piece after every meal! Tell my husband to take them out of the house, because he keeps bringing the damn things home. Beth -129, and stucked for a few days....

For those in MN you'll know what I mean with this lunchie: About 3 tablespoons of LeAnn Chin Peking Chicken - MmmmmmMMmmm - they let me order the kids size - so I gave a friend the creamcheese puffs (no way was I going to push little pouchy any further than the chicken!) Also got in 16 oz of water (more coming at impending workout) Snack: Low Carb Lemon Crunch Bar made by GenSoy (makers of my All time favorite snack - Salt & Vinegar Soy crisps *Swoon*) Tasted pretty darn good, and I have NO palate for those sawdust bars I used to eat. Closest thing I've had to a lemon bar in 7 months! Dinner - still clouded in mystery.

Got my work out in - 30 minutes on the ellipse, and ended up making my 30 minutes of walking stretch into 45. Snack : SF Red Rope licorice - made me have a lower GI dumping. Yech. No more malitol for awhile. Water - got in an additional 1.5 liters - YEA! Dinner - went to Vietnamese, got stirfried tofu and vegetables. Also ate one half of a tofu fresh spring roll (not all the noodles and stuff, but all the protein). Snack - Sweet Hunny and I shared 2 no sugar added welch's fruit popcicles. Mmmmmmm.

Breakfast - SF carnation breafkast drink, 1/2 scoop of protein and 8 ounces carb countdown milk and 6-8 ounces of water (250 calories/30 grams protein) Snack - grapes Lunch - strawberry/banana/blueberry protein SF smoothie (200 calories/20 grams protein) Snack - apple Dinner - whatever husband makes Snack - glass of carb countdown milk (100 calories/12 grams protein) This is pretty much my standard menu. I do vary the fruit. Unfortunately raw veggies, including lettuce, don't sit well with me so have a tendancy to avoid them.

Beth, Beth, Beth! I'm still struggling here, but getting better. Other than eating a little spaghetti (which is a pouch ouchie and for me...waisted carb calories) I did ok. This morning, I've had 20oz of water and eggs, so a good start.
