I am doing great - It feels so nice to be able to wear shoes with some kind of heal!!! I am almost 1/2 way - I am 5'1 and have gone from 285 to 209. I have lost 77 pounds. 80 will be 1/2 way to my goal - I can eat just about anything I want - Hard to compare to you RNY'ers. But my weight loss has slowed down a lot this month. I have not been exercising - BAD ME! I have vowed to start again this week and it is already wednesday with nothing yet. Walked all day at the fair with no pain!!!! Gone from a size 28/30 to a solid 18!!!! 3-4x tops to 1x. I love my new life!!! Contrats to everyone!!! Great Job! Toni Bowen Open DS - 20 April 2004 285/209/125

My turn! I weigh 188 lbs today! I like the way that sounds, I weigh 188 lbs today. For some reason I got into the habit of weighing myself usually on the 9th of each month, even though my surgery was on the 21st. Somedays I worry that I am not loosing enough weight fast enough but last night when I was at the support meeting, I realized I am doing great. I started at 258 lbs, and since I am tall (5'8") I am starting to look pretty darn good in my size 14 jeans and dress slacks, I bet my the end of October I will be wearing a size 12, because my pants are starting to sag in the crotch. I like all of you somedays struggle to get in my protein, I am eating about 750-100 calories a day and sometimes I still have trouble eating meat, especially pork. I always make sure I get all my liquids in daily. I never thought I would love a nice cold glass of water over a diet pepsi, but I now do. I am trying to get 57g of protein in but my doctor said absolutely no snacking, but sometimes I can help it so I eat a piece of cheese. I was exercising good but i also go to college and I had a class that kept me behind a desk studying but now that is behind me. I play tennis on the weekends, usually two hours each day. I wear a pedometer, today just around my office, I walked a mile and a half, burned a 140 calories. I think I burned enough to take off my yogurt. I also do the 8 minute tae bo and sometimes sweat to the oldies with richard. I would like to increase my exercise. If loose 100 per cent of my excess weight, I need to slightly pick up, I am about 6 lbs off. One thing for sure, I do best with steamed shrimp. It is funny, I am not much of a seafood lover but shrimp spiced with old bay is a weekly lunch for me. I have been told by my friends that guys are now checking me out when i go away and dirty old men with no teeth are hitting on me. One told me he was a garbologist, and that I was absolutely. I asked absolutely what and he said just absolutely. YUK! I am wearing size large shirts and large pants, actually feels kind of nice. My hair loss has slowed down thanks to flax seed and Nioxin. I hope this is what is helping. I want to be at 175 by Christmas and think I can do it, the then all I need to do is loose 27 more lbs. I look great, feel great and am renewing myself. I have not felt this emotionally, physically or spiritually healthy in such a long time. I definitely like me this way, which coming from me is the best compliment ever. Lori 258/188/148

Congrats to all of us!!! even those who have called themselves TURTLES!! hehe ... it's 50 pounds you wouldn't have lost otherwise, most likely ... Anyway ... i don't drink enough water, i don't eat enough protein, i don't do enough exercise ... ... SO ... this week, I started back to jazzercise (after over a year off) ... back to physical therapy for knee and arm pain ... and back to filling that big ole tweety cup i have ... since surgery, though, i've had to eat ice, not drink water ... i'm hoping that someday i can "gulp" again ... but every time i try, it hurts! last time i weighed was this past Friday ... i weighed 230 pounds, for a loss of 123 pounds!! Sizes have definitely changed, too ... I got into my FIRST PAIR OF JEANS!!! yea, yea, they're a size 24 ... but they're real jeans ... with no stretchy stuff anywhere!!! (i know that YOU guys know how exciting that is!!) in stretchy clothes (or semi-stretchy clothes), i can wear 18/20 and XL ... feels great!! Again, CONGRATS to all us losers!!!!!! Hi my name is Consuela. My surgery was on 4/7/2004.I had RNY open.I started out 357 pds.I now weigh 234 pds.I also am concerned about my loose skin on my arms.I'm actually not too upset about my legs.I have 3 dogs which I walk on a regular basis.I'm really feeling alot better and have more energy.I have fibromyalgia, but I think the weight loss and excercise has helped.I'm now wearing a size XL shirt from a 26/28+ I'm still wearing my pants, but they're almost falling off,so I'll probably have to buy new soon.Congratulations to everyone! It sounds like you're all doing great!
