DC CONFERENCE - WHAT GIVES????
OK....Maybe its just me that notices this because I am Director of Sales & Marketing for a convention hotel, BUT I have never seen such p-poor planning and lack of communication within an organization as I am seeing with this. Lots of us are excited about attending - yet as of 5 minutes ago I still can't register for an event just over a month away.
I'm sure this is gonna ruffle some OH feathers and possibly not even make it to the Board at all, but I'm gonna try. From the initial hotel info that you have to call the Sales Manager (WRONG!!! - sales managers sell - the reservations dept takes reservations) to not being able to finalize plans because you can't even register...This is a meeting planner's worst nightmare. Maybe this e-mail will set a fire to someone's butt. As excited as I am about meeting you all - if the event itself is this unorganized at execution (ie - the host hotel is so far away - how can we even change clothes before the dinner/dance??) I may be backing out altogether and planning a big bash next summer here in Richmond, VA at my hotel using the local hospitals for speakers and inviting everyone down here personally to show them how a conference should be run!
