We all need to quit apologizing!

I am not trying to be mean, but quit apologizing for not losing weight fast enough. You and I are all on a journey that is not going to stop once we reach goal. How fast we make the journey is not how you pick the winner. It will be those of us who find a new life and are able to stay healthy and active. Those of us who have not lost the most should feel proud of what we are accomplishing. I will bet that we all feel healthier and have more energy than we had 5 months ago. Stand up and be proud of what you have accomplished. (Just my opinion)

That's great advise! I'm what would be considered a 'slow loser' (no apologies though!) I don't get on the scale unless I'm going to the doctor, so I don't get too wrapped in the the weight. Here's the amazing thing...ALL OF MY COMORBIDITIES ARE GONE...WITH IN 5 MONTHS OF SURGERY! My husband and I were talking...even if I don't lose another pound, my surgery is already a success...woo hoo!

Debbie - I agree totally! This is not a competition to lose the fastest. Yes - be proud. All of us. No more apologies. No more "I just lost...." fill in the blanks. We are winners all. Thank you so much. Ruth

Thanks Debbie for saying so. There are a lot of women in my group. I have been attending for over a year. It doesn't really matter how fast people seem to lose, by the time they get to 1 year out, most people have lost about the same amount (unless they had a very high start weight). We're all going to get there, this surgery works for all who work it. It stinks for those of us who's bodies aren't as ready to let go of the fat as our minds are. I wish every person on this board the very very best. Take a bow whether you've lost 25 lbs or 150 lbs. We're all winners at the losing game here. ~Lara

wow debbie i needed what you just posted right at this very moment b/c i read these post of everyone losing so fast, even thou i know there are multiple factors why each one of us lose at different rates, that feeling just comes over me when reading about all of the fast losers. i'm happy for all of them, and i'm happy with my lose, but momentarily the "why" demon consumes me. thanks once again b/c i could actually feel myself going down to the dumps emotionally that's why i said i needed your post right at this very moment. God bless
