Lunch at work
Lisa,
one thing I found that was good..I take two slices of low-fat alpine lace swiss cheese (any kind of cheese that you can roll is good), and your favorite deli meat..I put a little bit of dijon mustard on mine for a kick. Make two rolls with the cheese on the outside and the meat on the inside and I put two or so toothpicks in them to hold them together. If I'm feeling "fru-fru" I'll take a cheese cube or a grape tomato or something and spear it through the tooth pick on top.
It's a fun little no-carb wrap. And believe me..I'm full after eating them. I'll normally eat one for lunch then on my two breaks at work split up the other.
That's my lunch.
This week I actually bought spinich and cukes with shredded taco cheese and blue cheese dressing for lunch b/c I'm needing to get in more veggies.
My work is the same way. I work in an office building downtown and when you add paying for parking and five for lunch everyday that you really don't eat...things add up!
Good luck!!!
Denise
I purchased these really little throw away containers. I put plain tuna, or egg salad or tuna salad or chicken in them. Eat with 2 or 3 crackers. Usually I skip the crackers. I also have cheese sticks at work and my 64 oz. container for crystal lite! Oh and low sodium, low sugar/fat peanut butter, always keep a jar on hand in case I forget my lunch!
Hi Lisa,
I also do the meat and cheese thing but I also bring a small bag of carrots or some other fruit or veggie. Sometimes I only do a protein bar and I keep a box of those at my desk. Today I had a few apple slices with some low fat/low sugar peanut butter. Last week I brought a half of a pear cut up with blue chees crumbles......yum! If I go out to lunch I usually order a cup of soup or a side salad and ask that they put cheese on it. Like the other post said, the small Wendy's chilli is inexpensive and full of protein and fiber. Hope this gave you a few ideas.

A whole wheat, low carb tortilla makes a good sandwich. Of course it will probably last you at least two lunches. You can fill it with whatever you like: egg salad, tuna, chicken salad, cold cuts, some lettuce and tomato, etc.
Also, this summer I made myself a half sandwich when I went to the beach. I toasted a piece of whole wheat bread, cut it in half and spread some chicken salad on it. It worked out very well. Didn't mush up or anything.
