Swallowing capsules/pills
I know this varies from one doctor to another, but have any of you been able to swallow any capsules?
I usually open my meds in capsules and pour them into some applesauce to take. But one supplement I have tastes too vile to eat opened...even when mixed with the applesauce.
I was wondering if there ever comes a time when you are able to swallow these again.
Hi Debi: I have been able to take capsules, and very large Mammoth size calcium pills since about 2 months out. I don't have a problem with them. My only suggestion is not to take them when your pouch is almost full. I usually take them when I am half full. Sounds strange I know, but sometimes if I take them on a full stomach, they put me over the limit my stomach can hold. Even though they are small in comparison to food it can make you hurt. Hope this help's....
Well, one thing I need to share, just so no one else makes this mistake.
I took a capsule today (herbal) and followed it with dinner less than an hour later.
I could not keep my dinner down at all. I never saw the capsule reappear, but I'm guessing that since it was at the bottom, it was what kept me from digesting my meal.
Ugh! And I thought my barfing days were pretty much behind me.
