I know I am not getting enough exercise. My knees hurt so bad. I have been walking to a video and sometimes my husband and I go out for a walk. I have lost 74.5 lbs so far, which is good but I am slowing down and getting discouraged. I know I need to get in more. Any ideas!! My skin is also so flabby. Tammy

If you can, join the local ymca and swim. Thats the best for sore joints. Its the least impact. I get bored walking, so I park my exercise bike in front of the tv and ride it during my favorite shows in the evening and for at least a mile in the morning (only 5 minutes, but its something).

Hi Tammy, I try to get a minimum of 1/2 hr cardio a day (swim, walk, bike, etc). I also teach a 'Mom and Me' class which is a constant go for two hours (had to stop doing it pre-op...now I can do it again...yeah) As far as advice, don't forget to add light weights to your routine. The more muscle you build, the more fat you will burn without even trying. Toned muscles burn fat while at rest...how cool is that. It will also help the flabby skin look better. Good luck rachel

I go to Curves 3 mornings a week and am walking 3 to 3.5 mi at least 5 days a week. Before I started walking every day I did water aerobics twice a week. Right now I'm looking into a weight class for woman that will start after Labor Day. (I'm trying to plan ahead for the crappy winter months.) Has anyone done Pilates or used a fitness ball? I second the suggestion on going to your local YMCA. You should be able to find a water aerobics class there. This is a great class to get your exercise quota in without putting stress on your joints! Besides, you'll meet some other people to exercise with. Nothing beats exercise buddies for sticking to a routine.

Ok--Im one of those crazy crazy people who thoroughly enjoys working out. My favorites are boxing, waterpolo and swimming. I have heard from doctors as well as my trainer that swimming is a really great thing for people who want to exercise after surgery. The water takes a lot of pressure away because the human body naturally floats, so you're supported by the water. So, if you can swim--that's great. I write a lot of cardio workouts to music for when I'm training for boxing. My profile has my latest one--do check it out if you're interested! Good luck, Love Neen
