Problem with gum

I accidentally swallowed a piece of Trident gum today, has this happened to anyone else, what kinds of problems does this cause?? Stacy Evans

It could get stuck. If you're not in pain, it probably didn't. Be careful and watch what you eat today....try to stick to pureeds.

Stacy, I hope everything 'comes out' fine! The first poster was dead on. Hopefully it will pass. I've given up on gum. I'm the 'can't chew gum and talk' type of person, so its an accident waiting to happen with me! Good luck Rachel PS. You may want to call your surgeons office for advice too.

Thanks! I did call the doctor and they said that it should pass through and if I had nausea or vomiting that I needed to drink a cup of water with a teaspoon of meat tenderizer. Sounds great!! Luckily I haven't been ill today!!! But I won't be chewing anymore gum anytime soon! Stacy

I've heard of meat tenderizer for regurlar food when it gets stuck, but not gum...good to know...but yuck! Happy to hear all is well! Rachel
