I am 4 months post-op and all of sudden I am starting to actually feel hunger....yuck. I thought this wouldn't happen for a least a couple of more months. As well my weight loss has slowed down. I have been stuck at -80 lbs for a couple of weeks. Is anybody else going through this at 4 months out? Lois RNY 04/01/04 270/190/??

I am feeling so hungry I thought something was wrong with me. I am glad I am not alone. I thought maybe I was craving a vitamin, but I just want to eat everything. I can't tell if it is head hunger or real hunger. I am trying to drown myself in water every time I want to pick up food. How are you dealing with it?

I felt real hunger from day 1. I get full faster than before the surgery obviously, but not as quickly as I did 4 months ago. I can definetly eat more and my weight loss is slowing down, although it hasn't stopped, I am at 83 pounds at 4 months. I'm happy with that. As long as I keep loosing! Hang in there. Dianne

I'm with you on the hunger thing, Dianne. I keep thinking I couldn't possibly be hungry, but I am. Can we stretch out our stomachs drinking water? Hope not! Peggy

Lois- My hunger comes and goes, as does my weight loss. Some weeks I lose hardly an ounce, and some I lose five. Lately I'm eating less, and losing more, trying to avoid grazing. I've got at least 59 lbs. to go, so I'm really interested in getting it off, ASAP!! Beth -85+

I'm hungry a lot...especially if I haven't drank for a while. I do find that having flavors added to my water helps. Right now I'm hooked on Diet Raspberry Lipton Ice Tea. I also eat cheese/pretzles for a snack as well as peanuts which are very filling...just make sure you chew them really well. Robin RNY 4/27/04 260/200/140-160
