Monthly Progress Report

Hello again! It's a new month and I thought it was time to give a progress report on how we are doing. Unfortunately, I don't have much to report as I've reached a slow down in my weightloss. I've only lost 1 lb since the last one. My incision is healing AGAIN after opening for the 4th time. Dr. B just wants to let the irritated stitch dissolve and I can be patient. I'm trying to eat more protein as he said this will help me with healing. So for this week I'm not eating anything but protein and water. I'm hoping this will be the jump start that I need to get some more weight off. I'm at 257lbs as of today and I started at 339 for a total of 82lbs. 4/12/04-Open RNY-Distal Starting BMI 62/47 339/257/Dr.s goal for me is 139.

I had surgery the 15th and I'm at 81 pounds. I only lost a pound last week. Things have definetly slowed down, but I'm very happy with my 81 pounds. It won't be long and I'll be under 250. Hang in there. Dianne 340/259

As of this morning I am down 80lbs. I don't feel great about that, although I know I probably should. I just feel like I have so much more to lose in so little time. For exercise I am walking and I can eat a lot more then I used to. 408/328/175ish

I think you're doing fine. I had my surgery on 4/14/04 and I'm down 51 pounds. I saw my doctor today for a follow-up and he said I'm right on target, that I'm a little slower than some of his patients but I'm steady. I lose about 5 pounds every 3 to 4 weeks. I don't see the weight loss until the third week. It's kinda weird! He said I'm doing great and that he likes to see his patients losing about 70-75% of their weight by the 6th month. I think you're doing great. You keep up the good work!

My weight loss has been slow for about 6 weeks now. My surgery was on 4/7/04 and I have lost 57 lbs. I've had low iron and a bad case of hives which have slowed my energy and therefore my weight loss. But I'm hangin` in there! Ronda lap RNY 297/240/140

Hey, I think we have talked before, we have the same date!!! I am sorry about the hives? Have ya gone to the dr. for it? I guess my iron is okay, I haven't had it checked for awhile, but all is well. I take two chewable vitamins each day, plus the calciium pills. Everyone looses at a different pace. I am down 70 right now, but boy has the pace slowed down alot!! I am still 30 from goal...Can hardly wait..but I am what some call a Light weight...for me is sure was heavy. I have energy most days but today I want to wrap up in a blanket and go to sleep with my labs.. we are having a hurricane today and the rain is horrible. Oh well this to shall pass. Keep up the good work, make sure to get all the liquid in you possible can and don't forget the protein. This is soo important. Deb

Hi Deb, Yeah, I remember you! Good to hear from you. You are doing great! 30 lbs is nothing compared to where you started. Just think, you'll definitely be at goal by Christmas this year! Today I started feeling a little discouraged about my weight loss being so slow then I ran across a picture of myself just a month before my surgery. WOW! I can't believe how much better I look now! I feel so much better after seeing that picture. If I hadn't had the surgery, I would still be looking (and feeling) like that! I'm trying to get more protein and water in. Thanks for the tips! Good Luck on the last 30! Ronda
