still sore
Christina, I still cannot lay on my side due to soreness. However I had developed a seroma that caused my incision to open up at 4 weeks. It has reformed now 3 times. I now have a lovely sink hole under my breast at the top of the incision. I call it my new belly button. I am I think 13-14 weeks out. I look forward to the day I have no soreness and can flop around in the bed like my husband. My back is starting to protest.
Hi Christine. Yes, I'm still sore, but I bought one of those space-age bed pads at Costco that mold around your body. The bed is now softer and I can sleep pretty comfortably on my back. I use a very fluffy pillow under my knees when I am on my back, and then I hug it when I am on my side. It helps support my stomach so that I don't feel like everything is shifting inside. I hope these ideas help. They have me.

I had my surgery on 04/26/04. I had the open RNY and a wound infection that my surgery had to open back up and let the infection out and let the wound heal from the inside out. So I am still quite sore and can't sleep on my stomach. On the 4th of July I wanted to have a little fun with my kids so I helped them shoot fireworks, which caused me to do a lot of bending over, the next morning I woke up and couldn't hardly move because my stomach and abdomin was so sore. Those few muscle us fat girls have (lol) have to be cut thru when we have surgery and probably haven't been used in years. So our bodies have to get use to it and when the muscle start moving more then we won't be as sore or so I have been told.
