Lets hear it from all April 27th'ers!!
In February I went for my first consultation and weighed in at 411 lbs. ON April 27, I had my RNY Lap and weighed in at 388. I was so blessed to have an easy surgery and recovery. One week after surgery I walked .5 miles and now I walk 4 miles a day ( 2 in the am and 2 in the pm). I weighed this morning and the scales recorded 294. That is a total of 117 pounds gone forever!! I have gone from size 62 pants to 50 and from a stretched 5x shirt to a very lose 3x shirt. My dress shirts have gone from 22/24 to 19 with some room in the neck. I could use some money for shopping..!! This has been so wonderful. I have a long term goal of 185. I am 5'7" and at the age of 39. I eat around 600 calories a day and for the most part I am not hungry. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for his love and help and also am thankful to my wife and son who have been so lovingly supportive. BTW, I am saving a fortune on food!! Take care and have a blessed day!
Hi Sue,
You hang in there! I'm kinda like you. I am not as fast of a loser as most. I started at 339 before surgery. I was 320lbs the day of surgery and have lost down to 265lbs. Not as impressive as most people, but ... we will get there. It's just going to take us a bit longer.
339/265
Total lbs post op- 54lbs.

Congratulations everyone. We're all doing great. Without this surgery we'd all probably be even heavier. I am 5'5" and weighed 257.5 the day of surgery. I am currently 209.5 so that's 48 pounds gone forever. I went from a 24/26 pants to an 18 and a 2X shirt to an XL. I have more energy, though am definitely having food cravings. I do let myself have cheese/cracker or peanuts for an occasional snack. Keep up the great work everyone.
Wow Robin....I also have surgery on April 27. We had the exact same starting weight (right down to the half pound!), only I'm 5'2". I'm down 47.5 lbs. Before surgery I was a 24 or 26 in tops, 24 in pants...now I'm wearing 18/20 or 2X in tops, 18P in pants. Could we be long-lost sisters?!?!

Francie - Cool! How weird is that. I see by your picture you're a blond...I'm a true brunette. I was always teased as a child that I was adopted...I'll have to ask my mom if she had any children I don't know about. What's funny about that is I was always upset when my cousins would tease me about being adopted. Now I am such an advocate of adoption as we were blessed with our daughter through adoption in April of 2000 (China).
To all 4/27's, keep up the great work
Robin
PS - can you tell I'm addicted to the emoticons
Greg, That is truly amazing. Thank you for sharing your journey, keep the updates coming.
I'm not weighing because I've always had trouble dropping weight quickly, and I don't want to get scale obsessed, but I have a doc appt on the 20th so we will see then. My clothing sizing is changing slowly but surely!
Take care,
Rachel
Hi April 27th'ers! I'm one of you and it feels so good! I am so tickled to find this message board. It really helps to know we are all here together helping each other through some very new territory. I saw my nutritionist today, and she weighed me in. I have gone from 274 down to 228. That's 46 lbs! Slow but steady wins the race.
I am so grateful for a second chance at life. It's so much easier to get around....and much more fun!!
God bless!
