Hi there
Hello to everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself and try to get active on this board. I participate on the Texas Message Board, but a lot of those folks are WAY post op, and sometimes I wish that I could talk to others who are in the same neck of this journey as me. Someone pointed me to this board
My name is Kay Lacy and I am a 25 yr old mom of a 7 yr old son and 4 yr old twins. I am married to a wonderful Air Force man, who is moving my family from Texas to Germany in a few weeks I'm really excited about the move though!
Anyhow, I started my WLS on April 14th, 2004 when I had Lap RNY done by Dr. Einspanier and Dr. Frazee here in Abilene, Texas. I started out at 253 lbs the day I left the hospital, and am now down about 62 lbs to 191! I love being able to say I weight ONE something LOL
Anyhow, hope that you all will let me jump right in! Feel free to check out my profile or email me anytime!
Kay
Hi Kay..
You and I had our surgery on the same date! so it's great to have someone to compare myself with..As of today I've lost 60 lbs. Not as much as some, but I'll take it. I'm still in those pesky 200's, but will be out of them by my 4month anniversary...I HOPE!
Are you having any trouble with foods? I still don't do meat very well, but seafood of any type is great. I live on scallops and yogurt!
So feel free to email me anytime and good luck on your move to Germany!

Wow the same date and we have lost about the same! I think that we are doing GREAT!!! Just my humble opinion though
I do sometimes have trouble with food, but I never know what it's going to be. I can NOT do fried or breaded foods AT ALL.....no kind of take out or fast food. I think my main problem is that I am still eating a little too fast, especially when I am starving, that's usually when I end up getting sick. Stupid me, still trying to figure this all out
Thanks on the good luck with the move.......I'm sure we'll need it. It's been a REALLY bumpy road thus far......dealing with the military is SOOO much fun........NOT

Hi Kay, Welcome to the April board.
I wish you luck on your big move...sounds exciting. I can't imagine making such a journey with my boys (7 and 3)...hope it all goes smoothly for you.
And congrats on your tremendous weightloss. I can't wait to be under 200. I'm not weighing except for doc appointments. My next one is on the 20th...hoping to find out I'm back in the 100's by then.
Keep us posted on progress!
I "said" I wasn't going to weigh except for dr.'s visits, but I just couldn't help myself I weigh every morning, but I only write down the results on Thursdays. That way I can see weekly what I have accomplished
Thanks for the good luck on my move! The journey to Germany is only HALF the battle LOL. We are all driving up to OR on vacation first, then Hubby is flying from Portland to Germany and the kids and I are staying a few more weeks, then driving back down here to Texas THEN flying (just me and the kiddos) to Germany. I am not looking forward to doing it alone, but these plans just work out best for us and our vacation and stuff!
Anyhow good luck on getting down to the One Somethings It feels great to say I weigh "ONE something"......I used to do it by accident when I was heavier and now sometimes I feel like I am messing up again then remember I'm RIGHT

Hi and welcome! We actually have a lot in common. I'm also a military spouse (Army). I have 7 year old twin daughters and a 4 year old son.
Congrats on the weight loss! I had my surgery on April 12th, and I'm down 60lbs from 280 to 220. I can't wait to be out of the 200's!
Enjoy Germany! We haven't had the chance to go there yet, but any of our friends who have say its absolutely gorgeous! Make sure you visit all the castles and take advantage of the Europass!
