losing hair..
well, knew it would probably happen, but it's started.. every day a little bit more hair in the drain... geez, this is one thing i was very afraid of, i'll be the maid of honor in my sisters wedding in July, hopefully i'll have hair!!!!!!!!! i know it's probably senseless to ask, but anyone know how to stop or stall it from happening? i've way upped protein in the last 2 weeks, drinking water and taking all vitamins.. i think it's just going to have to run it's course.. ~Kim
I've been using the Nioxin shampoo and conditioner (as a pair you can find them for $25) since about a month before my surgery. I can't tell if I'm losing more hair now or not because I lost a lot of hair every day before surgery. I don't know if it was stress or thyroid condition. I am on thyroid medication but still I lose my hair.
Anyway, my hair does look great with the shampoo and conditioner and my beautician says that this is the product that people who take chemotherapy use to help keep their hair. I believe that it does work.
Try it, it can't hurt. P.S. the conditioner I use is for "scalp therapy" It really tingles.....

The coordinator for my surgeon says you have to keep your protein around 90 mg a day to avoid losing hair. I found some protein mixes that you mix with only 4 ounces of water for about 20 grams of protein. Four a day plus what you eat and you're good to go. I actually lose less hair now than before surgery!
One brand I love the best is Nectar. The Roadside Lemonade and Fuzzy Naval are awesome. I buy mine online at Vitalady.com. She's very reasonably priced.
