I was curious to see if anyone else has problems with meat?? Its not that I cant get it down, my head has told me that we dont like meat anymore....lol. I always try to choke a few bites down, but sometimes, just the smell of it cooking makes me nauseous. My Dr. told me it would eventually pass and to eat more beans, nuts, cheese, et****il then. Im trying different protein shakes and powders now. Maybe this will pass soon.

I can eat any meat and fish, no problem, no matter how they are prepared, even if they're dry. But after eating meat, I rarely have room for veges and I'm not doing starchy, side dishes at all. Usually just meat. Trying to get in all my protein without utilizing the protein drinks. Most times I only hit about 50 gms of protein. Still not enough, I know!!

Yes... Me and meat is not getting along right. The only meat I can eat is CHICKEN, TURKEY, and some FISH (TUNA OR CAN SALMON). But I will try again next month my Dr. said that this might be the time my body do not want that red meat. And I'm only 2 monthe post-op, My date was 4/7/04. so you no how i feel the 4th of July is around the corner and steak was the best meat that would be on the grill. but if you need someone to talk to my e-mail address is [email protected] or [email protected]

My doctor told me no red meat for several months, although I've had ground beef with no problems and chicken is also ok. Dianne

I have problems with meat too. The one thing I've found that works is ground beef -- chunked up and with spaghetti or marinara sauce or put in a taco. I get most of my protein from shakes. If you'd like to try a really good one, try Unjury. It's excellent. And I HATE protein powders. But I actually look forward to having 2 of these each day. You can get them at Unjury.com. If you go to the product reviews on this site you'll see that everyone raves about them. Jamie

Oh, yes. Big time. Princess Pouch doesn't like meat. I puke. The only meat that works, as with the other Jaime, is ground beef. The princess especially hates chicken. The mere thought of it is revolting. I eat beans, cheese, hi-protein powder (Syntax Nectar) made with yogurt, and some nuts, but they are a little hard for me yet. Jaime

i can't eat any meat that well without dumping. so i just stick to soup and eat the meat in that. pork goes down pretty go but how good is all pork for me. i hate all protein products since the surgery i have a bad gag reflux and they make me want to vomit so i've been eating cheese and peanuts and eggs. i love fruit and i can eat that all day long.

I haven't had problems with meat.....mine's with chicken. I used to eat chicken alot pre-surgery....even when going to a steakhouse! I every time I've tried to eat it since. Now, I can eat any red meat no problem...weird, huh? Also, I was never a big fish person and now I LOVE it. My family and my BF's family are hoping that I'll turn to mushrooms soon, too. It's almost a sin to Italians to not like them! Debbie
