How ya doing 2 months along?
I'm doing OK. Had a long plateau, which was so frustrating, but finally back to losing about 1 lb every day or two. I started at 340 and was at 302 today. I am just dying to get under that 300 mark! Hopefully by Monday.
I have had no problems with the surgery and can eat most anything without problems, except sugar stuff of course I just have to be carefull to eat slow and chew really well. One thing that help me slow down is that I have a 3 yo who won't eat much dinner unless I feed him, so between one for you and one for me, it takes awhile to finish.
I have recently started having stomach pains. If my stomach gets totally empty it hurts, I get sick at my stomack and it hurts when I drink something that is very cold, just like it did when I first had my surgery. I worry about the possibility of getting ulcers. I have my 3 mo checkup on July 7, so I hope to hold out and discuss with my surgeon then if it has not gotten better or worse.

Hi there! I'm an April 12ther, and I'm doing very well! I'm surprised how everyone else seems to be experimenting with all kinds of foods--my doctor and the nutritionists have a very specific plan that we must follow. I eat the same foods pretty much every day: yogurt (to crush up my Pepcid in), cottage cheese, ground turkey burger, and occasionally, baked fish. They've told us not to eat fruits or veggies, beef, pork, mashed potatoes or sugar. I'm kind of glad to be focused on just a few foods--it makes it work, not fun, and I needed that! I'm still trying to get all the water in that I'm supposed to every day.
I've lost 43 lbs--down from 253 to 210--and I'm ready to break 200! I've been walking since the second week out and I'm up to an hour a day, five times a week. I'm no longer in any pain, and my incisions are fading scars. I think I've lost about 30 lbs in my face, neck, and shoulders--my belly is still very much there! All in all, excellent recovery and normal results!
Way to go everyone!

I had open on 4/12. I had some complications so I was on liquids pretty much until about 2 weeks ago. Now I can finally eat food. I do fine with red meat, fruits, veggies, lettuce, cheese, fish. For some reason I can't handle chicken and while I can do tortillas, bread is a big no-no, which I learned the hard way. I do eat wheat crackers though.
I have no problem at all handling sugar-- which is probably a bad thing and I stay away from it anyway. I have never dumped. I was throwing up alot, but that was due to my complication, and now that its fixed, I haven't thrown up or felt naucious since. I eat very small amounts, but it feels so good to eat.
I work out at least 3 times a week with a combination of cardio and weight lifting on top of just the normal everyday chasing after my children. I've lost 50lbs. so far and I'm finally feeling great. We put my "before" and my most recent picture next to eachother and the difference put a permanent smile on my face.
My husband is also my biggest fan. Not a day goes by when he doesn't tell me how proud he is of me, and I couldn't be more thankful.
