Hello Jeannie, I had surgery on the same day as you and I was told to shoot for 1000 calories now and at least 60-80 grams of protein a day and at least 64 oz of liquids a day. Now I get around 800 calories and 80 grams of protein and about 80 oz of water/crystal light each day. But each surgeon has different standards that you have to follow.....I would ask either your dietician or surgeon for the exact amounts you should be eating. Take care, Roger Open RNY 4-22-04 -39 lbs

I was told to shoot for 800 cal for the first six weeks and then keep it around 1000-1200 after (depending on the activity level). I know other surgeons say not to count calories. I guess if you are losing an making good food choices, you are on track. Take care, Rachel
