Having trouble eating
Dianne,
Have to you called your doctor yet? A lot of people have talked about ulcers and strictures causing pain when they eat. Is the food coming back up or is only as you swallow? The other option could be your gallbladder if you haven't had it taken out yet?
Best advice I can give is call your doctor tomorrow and see what he has to say.
Dianne,
What kind of pain are you having? I am one week older than you and have been having quite a bit of discomfort myself. My new system doesn't seem to like anything anymore - even things it used to be fine with.??! I don't throw up or anything, I'm just very uncomfortable for a while after I eat. It has made me not want to eat at all. I am now having to force myself to get my minimum requirements in.
I read somewhere that it is possible to get an irritated pouch and that if that happens, we should drop back to a liquid diet for a day or two until it settles down. Maybe we should try that.
I see my doc tomorrow. I'll let you know what he says. Will you do the same? Let me know what your doc says?
Good luck,
Ronda
Hi Dianne! I'm a fellow neighbor and St. Louisan! A bunch of us are trying to plan a get-together in June for us WLS Missouri folks.......Check out the Missouri board if you are interested.....we'd LOVE to have you join us!
I'm sorry you are having pains when you eat and drink. If this has been going on for a few days, please call your Doc! If you need someone to talk to that is a local phone call away, just let me know and we'll exchange numbers!

Dianne,
Ronda again... I told you I was going to my doc today. I didn't make it... Have a migraine headache! I rescheduled for 8:00 a.m. tomorrow. I'll let you know what he says. Something dawned on me yesterday , are you eating more dairy since this surgery? I have been and I read somewhere on OH that it is not uncommon to develop lactose intolerance after this surgery. I wonder if that has anything to do with your pain.
Hang in there! It WILL get easier for us, have faith!
Ronda
