I NEED TO KNOW IF IT IS ME OR IF OTHER HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I THINK I EAT TOOOO MUCH. TODAY I EAT ONE PACKET OF INSTANT OATMEAL FOR SNACK I HAD AN ORANGE. FOR LUNCH I AM EATING 1/4 OZ OF BAKE CHICKEN BREAST MIXED WITH BOC AND CHEESE. I WILL EAT A FEW BITES BUT I STILL THINK IT IS TOO MUCH. ALSO I HAD A FEW PRETZELS. WHAT IS WRONG? AM I EATING TOO MUCH. I AM ALMOST FIVE WEEKS OUT AND MY LAST DOCTORS VISITED I DON'T LOOSE ANYTHING BUT FAT MASS. SHOULD I CUT OUT A MEAL OR SOMETHING?

I feel the same way...I too am approx 5 weeks out. I have given this much thought prior to your post.... For me, I think that my pouch may have been swollen and sore...now it is not and I can now eat to fullness of my entire pouch...which obviously is MORE than what I could eat early post-op. But, for me, I have actually started loosing MORE weight since I am eating more. Since surgery, 4-19-04, I am down a solid 25 lbs, 35 lbs total since 4-10-04.... so, I will keep eating....but, to be honest, I still have that little voice...you are eating too much...NO I'M NOT...yes you are...NO I'M NOT..... LOL any-who.....my answer is not very scientific, BUT, I too have the same fear. RAE

My friend wasn't losing weight because she wasn't getting enough calories. Your body thinks it's being starved and hangs on to whatever it can. It tries to store fat instead of losing it. She needed to eat more. Just a thought. Bernadette

It sounds like you just might not be eating enough or often enough. Your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to everything you eat if you are skipping meals. I'm sure you will figure out a good routine for you. Priscilla
