My surgery was on 4/6/04 and my period is not coming. I am definetely not pregnant. Is it because of weight loss?

Ira, How ironic! I started my period less than 2 weeks after surgery and am still bleeding (3 weeks later). My doc says that it is not uncommon for our cycles to be messed up after this surgery for about 6 months. Our hormones are stored in our fat cells and as we lose weight, they are being released. Therefore, our cycles get messed up. Hope this helps. If you are concerned, call your doc. Ronda
