Weights???
I read posts as to how much weight everyone is losing and I feel like I am so far behind and don't want to get discouraged.
I have lost 11 pounds since what I weighed just prior to my surgery on the 22nd. If I go by what I have lost since after my surgery it would be closer to 25 due to all the fluid gain caused by surgery itself.
How is everyone else quoting their weigthloss??? Stupid question I know but.....
Mary,
I too seem to be behind on the weight loss curve. I weighed 297 when I first went to my Dr. in January. He had me on a protein shake diet for a few weeks pre-op so I lost 10 lbs before surgery. Then I gained 10 lbs in the hospital due to IV fluid, swelling, etc.. Now I weigh 270 so I either lost 27, or 17. My doc counts it at 17 - drats! Oh well, my clothes are fitting better and I have lost inches. I guess in the long run, it doesn't really matter as long as we lose, right?!
Good luck,
Ronda
Hi Mary,
More important than the amount of pounds is the inches. I am 4 1/2 weeks post-op and have lost 34 pounds but in the last week I have not lost a pound. I took my measruements though and am seeing the results that way. Everybody has told me to get rid of the scale because it can be discouraging so that's what I have done.
Keep your chin up it will happen but sometimes after surgery your body is adjusting to the changes and may get a bit confused.
