2 weeks postop and want food

I am craving real food! I've been on full liquids for a week now and have been doing fine, up until today. I understood that you didn't get hungry, which I don't, but I still want it!!! I'm sick of mashed potatoes, soup broth, and protein shakes. I have to wait until May 2 for pureed foods and I am going nuts. I hardly ever want anything sweet which is wonderful. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND WHERE YOUR COMING FORM. I WAS 1WEEK YESTERDAY AND I'M THINKING GIVE ME APPLESAUCE, MASHED POTATOES, BEANS, ANYTHING OTHER THAN SOUP AND BROTH OR JELLO!!! BUT HANG IN THERE AND DO SOMETHING TO TAKE YOUR MIND OFF OF FOOD. CALL SOMEONE, PLAY ON THE COMPUTER OR EVEN TAKE YOUR WALK. TIL THE URGE GOES AWAY. YOU DON'T WANT TO RISK SOMETHING GOING WRONG. WHAT YOU ARE FEELING IS NORMAL ONE THING WE WERE TAUGHT IN SCHOOL WAS (THIS MAY SOUND GROSS) IS THE FOOD YOU ARE CRAVING CHEW IT AND THEN SPIT IT OUT.

Hang in there. Consentrate on how great you'll look and feel soon enough. Food is your enemy. It is what made us fat in the first place. Who needs it. Have a shake and go for a walk

Karen hang in there and don't do like me and have a piece of bread whatever you do!!!! I made that mistake and felt terrible for a couple of hours and I was very lucky it didn't create a block. The cravings are in your head and you can conquer them! Good Luck Lois
