OK, I have a terrible time with liquid anything...so....I talked to the pharmacist and she told me about an alternative to liquid bowel preps...pills. I asked her why more doc's don't use/recommend it and she said that it is brand new and that YOU must drink approx 1 gallon of liquid (water)...no problem with that. There are about 10-15 pills, but hey better than liquid. Anyone use them? The pills are by RX only. It is called Visicol tablets....any info? I go tomorrow for my pre-op and will be mentioning it to him....in fact, I will do more than mention...I will be rather pushy. RAE

Sorry I can't help. My surgeon does not require any bowel prep. It's weird how some require it and some don't. I just don't eat after 6pm the night before and no drinking after midnight. I like that better. So far my docs patients seem to be doing OK with having the surgery without a bowel prep. Weird how different docs to different things.

Hi Rae, I agree with you, pills and drinking water sound better than having to drink that phosfill soda stuff. That stuff is nasty! Let me know what you doctor says if they work any different, I would be curious and I will check with my doctor when I go in for pre-op next week. Good luck!!!!!! Take care, Wendy

I wish I knew about this before. I already have my liquid bowel prep stuff, and I'm NOT looking forward to drinking it! YUCK!!
