Surgery on Monday- send a little prayer!
Hi there. I'm heading off for my RNY surgery on Monday in PA. I'm am very excited about this (& slightly nervous to be honest). I have lots of great support from family- but I haven't said anyhting to my 2 children- a son who is 6 and daughter who is 3. I don't want them to be nervous or scared. Any suggestions?
Please send a little prayer my way for a quick recovery. I feel like I'm about to "cacoon" myself and transform!
Best wishes to all. Happy Easter and Happy Passover.
Melissa
Hi Melissa. Gook Luck on Monday I pray you will have a good surgery and a good recovery. I have step-daughter who is 4 years old and I told her that I need to go to the hospital so the doctor can make me feel better so I have energy to play with you more she so excited she can't wait.
It's because when we play outside or something I always got to stop early because I get so worn out and ready to fall over from exhaustion. My surgery is April 22nd. 18 more days!!! I'll put you on my prayer list at work. (I work for the diocese of pittsburgh.)
Good Luck and Best Wishes

Melissa, you ARE about to cocoon..congratulations!! My kids are teens so I had to be very specific in telling them about my surgery. I almost thought it might be easier to have told them if they were much younger. If you don't act nervous, chances are they won't feel nervous. (I know it is hard NOT to act nervous). Happy Easter and Passover and Best wishes on your surgery! I'll be praying for you tomorrow!
Melissa,
My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family tomorrow as you go through this life-saving surgery. I too have 2 children (15 & 11) They are getting pretty nervous about everything now. I tried to explain the odds to them and all the pros I could give them like only 1-200 people die from this surgery, but of course the only thing they concentrate on is the one who died *L*, but that is kids for you.
I pray everything works out for you and your family..please let us know how you are doing as soon as you get to the other side and feel up to it..
Take care
Betty
Melissa...What a great present for your children! Kids are incredibly resilient. I am sure they will be great, especially when you have more energy from shedding the weight! Best wishes for a smooth recovery. Keep us posted and we'll keep you and your family in our prayers. You'll be coming home just in time to greet the Easter Bunny! I am right behind you due for surgery on April 12th! God Bless!
