That sounds like a much better way to do it, but my surgeon wont accept any test results that are given prior to 6 weeks before my surgery. I'm guessing they get some kind of "payment" for referrals, and that is why they want to handle everything through their office. Good luck to you, Rachel

That's exactly how all of my other friends did their pre-ops. Just one long, marathon day. That what I expected. I was pretty shock when I got my long list of dates in the mail on Saturday (not a lot of time to arrange for sitters and people ot drop off an pick up from school - I have a 3 and 7 year old.) Hope all of your pre-tests go well. Let me know! Take care, Rachel

Wow! You are a very busy woman!! I saw my PCM for a physical and referral in September I had my initial consultation with the surgery clinic in Sept I had my psych eval in October, and follow up with psych in Nov. I took my nutrition class in Nov. I saw my PCM again in Jan. to schedule testing I had my bloodwork done in Jan. I had my pulmonary function test done in Jan. I met with my surgeon in Jan. I had my sleep study done in Feb. I had my stress test (treadmill) done in Feb. I had another appointment with my surgeon in March. I was approved for surgery in March. I have one more preadmitance appointment at the hospital next week, on April 5th. I will have a chest x-ray, EKG, and some more bloodwork done, and will speak with the anethesiologist. April 12th is my surgery! Its so funny to me how different doctors require different things. Good luck with all you have to get done!

Isn't it strange that it can be so different. You would think it was more of an exact science. It sounds like most of our tests are the same. Did you take Phen/fen? That is why I have to have the extensive cardio testing. Good luck to you on the 12th. Rachel
