Hi Lee - I'll be 2mo post op on 6/29. I have found the following foods to be very satisfying and easy to chew and digest:
Hillshire Farms deli select 98% fat free cold cuts (turkey, pastrami, ham)
Shrimp
Just a couple things for variety.

I'm 2 months out, 40 pds down yahooooo! I'm eating about six times a day, small meals, have to watch the nibbling and snacking!!! I find that I still can't eat alot of different food, no bread - makes me sick! No meat other than chicken/tuna, and I eat the same stuff all the time?!? Is this normal what I'm saying or is it just me???? What are you eating, anybody, who is two months out???? I'd love to know! -Lee Mott, Canada

Hi Michelle.
Congratulations on your weight loss, 47 pounds in 7 weeks is great! I had my lap rny on April 1st and I have lost 40 pounds in 2 1/2 months. I'm considered a light-weight (even though 100 pounds overweight does'nt sound so light to me). I think by the 3rd month is when most people get that burst of energy. I hope so, I am starting to get small bursts of energy. Good luck.

Hi Melissa: I had surgery on the 1st of April. My surgeon was very strict on what, when and how much to eat and drink...he progresses his patients over a much longer period of time. From what I've read and heard from other WLS patients this seems to be the key to success. I wish you the best...let us know how you are doing. Jim

I had my surgery ...
Deb, I hope I may call you that. I am so glad that the surgery has been making your life & I hope of those around you more fulfilling. I have had the same problem when I eat something greasy, I get nausea & I throw up this white phoam. It is not very good. I wonder what causes it? I hope that your life keeps improving as mine is doing also & that you may reach your ultimate goal, God Bless. Grisell

I am having problems trying to get my energy levels up, but I have noticed an improvement as I have started the sublingual B12 from GNC & they have helped me a lot, I have always been anemic & lost a lot of blood in the OR. I hope that you get better soon. Good luck.

I had open RNY on April 16, 2003. I started Curves this past week and went 5 days. Before that, I have been walking 4 to 5.5 miles per day. I had to make myself do this. This is the first week I've had tons of energy. I only took 2 weeks off work. I don't get tired at work, but by the time I get home, I'm getting tired. This week I can't quit. On Monday, I exercised at Curves, push mowed the yard, walked my dog, cooked supper, did dishes, did 2 loads of laundry, picked up the house, swept my kitchen and basement steps and had to make myself quit. This was after working 8 hours. It was the most wonderful feeling ever!!! Your energy will improve. I had complications and lost quite a bit of blood. I'm now anemic also. This surgery was still a huge blessing! I'm not diabetic any more, and I don't have aches and pains any more. We are close to the same. I've lost 46lbs in 8 weeks. Good luck. I hope you get more energy soon. Lisa
Topic: Low Energy level
Hi Everyone. I had my OPEN RNY on April 22, 2003. I am on solid foods now. It really takes some adjustment to get use to. I have found out that I can not eat anything that is dry. I have gotten sick a couple of times and had to throw it all back up. Anyway how is your energy level? Mine is so very low. When I get up in the morning I feel refreshed then I go to work at 7:00 a.m. and by 12:00 p.m. I am truely exhausted. This is like my third week back to work, and I thought by now I would be full of energy. I have lost 47 lbs in 7 weeks, but I don't feel like it cause I feel so sluggish. I have an appointment with my PCP on Monday to see about the B12 shots. I know my iron is low. I have always been animenia, as a matter of fact before I left the hospital I had to have two pints of iron through my IV. I just want to have a burst of engery so I can really get to excerising. Now after work, I just want to hit the bed. Well I'm signing off.
Talk to you all later

My problem areas are bread and pasty foods. Tried green peas not long ago---Disaster!! Guess we all find goofy food problems. My strangest "problem" is a sensation of being nauseated just at the thought of some foods I used to like!
Hope you're doing well--my surgery was on the 29th in P.C. (Dr. T)

Topic: Hello,
I had my surgery ...
Hello,
I had my surgery April Fool's Day 2003. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family. As of June 4th, I have lost 36 pounds and feeling so much better. Yesterday I got out in the yard and helped with the yard work for the first time in many years.
I have had one adjustment since my surgery and I will have another adjustment June 2nd. I find that I can eat almost anything. I have to be careful with had foods. They want to get lodged and that doesn't feel good. The softer the better is my motto for my eating plan. I don't do soups except very rarely, because I feel like I can ingest a bunch of that and never feel full.
I have had a problem twice now where after I eat I have foam build up in my stomach and I have to spit it out, it does not make me throw up, but it is very uncomfortable and I have to get rid of it. Once was when I ate a very greasy onion ring and once when I tried to eat bacon. I have put those on my list of no-nos. I think the grease was too much. It really didn't taste very good either, since my surgery I find myself not wanting greasy foods.
I have arthritis in my knees so I am doing water aerobics in the pool in a nearby town. It's all women and we have a great time. I have a pilates tape that I have watched once. I have not attempted to get on the floor to do them. I still have that fear of not being able to get off the floor. I was able to get out of the jacuzzi tub in my home the other day without help from my husband. That is progress.
I hope this finds everyone in good health. Afterall, that's why we all have done this, right? Thanks for listening, DEB
