Topic: Thankful for the surgery :)
Hi, I am from Decatur, IL and had surgery April 18th, 2003. I have lost 60 pounds and am very pleased. I have 90 pounds to go. I walk at the gym 5 times a week for an hour and have also started taking water aerobics classes 4 times a week.
My motivation is other people who have had the surgery.
I usually get nauseated when I eat any type of meat or when I think of meats.
This weekend was the 1st time that I was able to eat some meat (lamb) and not get sick or feel ill. YIPEE
I have no problems with water but sometimes I do feel like I am eating too much and so I just stop. I worry that I will stretch my stomach out.
I am never hungry and just go by a schedule of when I will eat.
I am so thankful for the people I have talked to thru this website and thankful that I had this surgery! Good Luck to all
Suggestions for eating meats/fish/poultry are very much appreciated

I dont think you are eating too much julie.......I had surgery on April 28th and I am only down 38lbs. so If you are down 55 then it sounds like you are doing great to me!

I too had surgery on April 28th..as of yesterday I was down 38lbs. so I guess we are on the same track.......I think If we start an exercise program, we will accelerate the weight loss. The program was a move in the right direction. I can also relate to how you feel about this not working, but rest assured it is working. Good luck to you!!!

I thought it would be a lot less. I am not having any problems with food going down as long as I chew it well. I has surgery on April 14th and have lost 55lbs. I am very happy about that but I am worried I am eating to much.

Hello Lee. I had my surgery on April 1 and as of tdy 6/21/03 I have lost 50lbs. I'm at the stage where I can't really find anything good to eat. My appetite has changed so much. I don't really like anything anymore. Sometimes I'll get a strong craving for something and then when I eat I don't want it anymore. Are you going through this too? Good thing however is I don't get sick that much anymore. At one point I would throw up after every meal but now I'm fine. I pretty much know what I can and can not eat and the types of food that work well. The first month was the hardest but now I'm feeling good, I see the weight loss and I get compliments daily.

I had my surgery April 1, 2003 and I'm looking for someone who had surgery around the same time to compare notes with. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
