Topic: RE: April Fool's Day
I had my surgery on April 1st. I am down 45 pounds. I am 5'8 and started out at 247 and I'm now 202. A couple pounds until I can see the 100's again. I feel really good and can eat anything except chicken and hard meats. Meatballs and meatloaf are ok. I feel I am losing slower than most people but I am halfway to goal in almost 3 months, that is pretty darn good.

Topic: helping each other and my introduction
Hi all,
I am Robin in Va and I had open ryn in Washington Dc on 4/8/03.
I am 52, live with my hubby Ken and 4 small papillon dogs(more about them later)
I started at 226 and now(11 weeks out) am at 181. My personal goal is between 140 and 130. I would not be too unhappy if I only made it to 150 but why not shoot for the moon?
I am honestly not exercising yet but I did just buy a new hybrid bike( test rode about 6 kinds and brands, email me for my personal consumer reports. lol)
I would like to swim but can't find a bathing suit that fits right yet!
And I want to look into curves or a gym program in September. Also want to start agility with one of my dogs.
I find I am staying away from anything "white", no pasta, no bread, nocookies or cake items. I also can't do meat yet, have lost my taste for it.
I do 2 shakes a day, V8 or diet snapple for a treat beverage and lots of water.
breakfast is either eggs and cheese or cottagecheese with blueberries or peaches.
lunch is tuna, my own chicken salad, a small salad, or some cheese and a slice of deli turkey.
dinner is chicken, fish or shrimp wih some vegie.
evening snack is small scop of fat free frozen yogurt. I think thoug this has slowed my weight loss this week . I also do the ff sf ice pops from edy's.
so, go read my profile, tell us about yourself, and how about naming ourselves the "April unfools' or just april fools.....what do you think?
best wishes to you all, I like the fact we can read all the messages on this page!
hugs,

Topic: RE: Emotional Eating
Hi Lenora, don't get depressed!!!
Last week I found myself in abad place both emotionallyand financially. things were happening that I could not control, thus I turned to food to find solace. lucky for me, there was nothing in the house bad to eat at all!!! So I went outside with one of my dogs and walked a bit. i also wrote to the list that I was facing this and by putting it down for all the oBlist to see, I was better able to deal with the want, not the need of food.
BTW, PLEASE SPEAK TO YOUR DOC OR DIETICAIN ABOUT THE TUMS....tums are not good for us, there are far better quality ways of getting the right kind of calcium.
why don't you take a minute here and write what it is that you are eating and perhaps we can help you with better choices?
I think I will start a post concerning daily diet. maybe that will be beneficial to many of us.
write, lmk how you are doing now, today.... keep that chin up!!!
and big hugs to you, we all need them once aday!

Topic: Emotional Eating
I had surgery on April 24, 2003 and have lost 35 lbs, which I am happy with so far. I can eat almost anything, which kind of scares me because I am having some problems with portion control. Immediately after the surgery I knew I could only eat tiny amounts, otherwise I would get sick. But as time went by I discovered I could eat a little more and now I am having problems with portion control. And, I am find myself wanting to go back to my old emotional eating patterns of eating when I am bored, tired, depressed, etc. I find myself depressed because I can't eat the way I use to and I am grouchy almost all the time. I am taking my vitamins, tums and B12, but I still am depressed. I am really starting to think I made a bad decision about having the surgery. Does anyone have any suggestions...I am really needing some help here.
