Rita it sounds like we are all doing about the same. I had surgery on 4/9 and have lost around 60 pounds. It goes up and down and I have found that the last week or so I have lost none. I know I am going to have to start exercising more now and hopefully that will start me back to losing. I weighed 240 when I started so I guess we are all doing pretty good. Good luck to you!

I too think your doing great! My surgery was 4/4 and I have only lost 55#. I don't exercise as much as I should(Irelly hate it and am hoping some day it will grow on me). My eating pattern also consists of 3 meals a day and two protien snacks (if I get hungry). Like lowfat cottage cheese, a hard boiled egg or 1-2 pieces of light string cheese. I also am not a breakfast person so I drink a chocolate protien drink with Eggbeaters in it (Sounds bad but you don't taste the Eggbeaters). The Mix I use is Met-RX Milk chocolate. I get it at Meijers. It has 140 calories with the eggbeater and 29g of protien and only 4 carbs(if your counting them). So I get almost 1/2 of the minimum amount of protien a day that my Dietician recommended (60g). Keep up the good work! LOL

it would be amuch better gauge if we all 1. stated where we began 2. gave our age 3. gave our height 4. do we exercise 5. personal goal then maybe we could just accept our own PROGRESS and not worry so much how others are doing. me; open ryn, 4/8/03 started at 226, age 52, 5'3", now 13 weeks out for a loss of 50 pounds(176), goal 130-140 just started exercising keep losing! Sounds like you are doing great, 60 pounds down! My surgeon and nutritionist want me to eat 6 mini meals a day so my pouch does not stretch. He said if I only eat 3 meals a day, those meals will be bigger as time goes on and that will stretch it. Cottage cheese is a great source of protien. Can you eat meats like chicken, pork or hamburger yet? They are great sources also. Make sure they are moist when you eat them, that way they stay down well. Chicken salad is always good, so are eggs, another great source of protien. Good luck and keep up the good work!!!!

This is my first posting, so forgive me if it is stinky I had my surgery 4/21/03 (10 weeks ago) and am 60 lbs. down. I am having sooooo much trouble getting enough protein in. Any suggestions?? I have always been a perpetual dieter too, so I do think about calories. I guess I am not supposed to, but I do. So I try to get enough protein, but I am always afraid I am eating to often then. My surgeons pogram is very conservative. We are only supposed to eat 3 meals a day, no snacks. I cheat and have reduced fat cheese or a couple tablespoons of yogurt, because I do get hungry. I thought I would not. I hope my pouch has not stretched or something!! There are just so many things I worry about!!! Any suggestions for a nuerotic? Thanks...LOL!!!

Rita: I had surgery on 4/22 and have lost 43# and 45 inches. Your ahead of me. Watch the weight of people that lose faster most of the time they probably have more to lose. I had 119# to lose at the beginning and considered a light weight. I will get there but need to be patient. I have never lost this much in such a short amount of time. Hang in there, remember it won't come back! Hugs: Barbara

You are right on target. I had my wls on 4/21 and I have lost 53 pounds as of today! Most of the ones that lose more fast are usually carrying alot more weight. I started out at 278 pounds. Keep up the good work and just remember when you hit a platue, you can still lose inches. Best of luck to you!!!

Wow!! You've lost 53 pounds. That's great. I had my surgery on 4/29. I've lost 46 pounds myself. I was wondering if my loss was normal too.

You are beating me! I had surgery 4/14 and have only lost 52. I think we are the "normal" ones. I try to overlook all of those posts that depress me like "I lost 80 pounds in 3 months". YUCK. Hang in there --- WE CAN DO IT!
